What I’m watching

“Daniel Craig (who I contend may have been the best 007)”

I agree. Seemed genuine throughout.

I had George Lazenby on a flight to Sydney about 2 years ago. What a pompous a$$. He had to let everyone know he was James Bond ( played the role once) and was very demanding towards the flight attendants. The best part of the story was that about 2 hours from landing, he pooped his pants !:grin:

I guess the pompous couldn’t wait to get out of his a$$

Another excellent two episodes of Maul today. Really liking how they lean into Maul’s backstory for those of us who hadn’t followed everything to date. I knew bits and pieces, but this is filling the gaps well. Also, that escape sequence was all kinds of awesome.

The static (mostly) cityscape artwork in this show is truly some of the most amazing I’ve ever seen. Right up there with Ghibli backdrops, imo.

Getting ready for the final episode of Good Omens by binge watching the first two seasons.

As funny a 30ish minutes of TV as was ever broadcast, but then I’m sort of too close to these guys humor as I watch some combination of them (and Jon Stewart) every night to keep my sanity.

God Bless the 21st Century version of Court Jesters; ya still gotta get up ever morning hell bent on fighting the chaos, but at least you can sort of laugh yourself to sleep every night.

Edit to say: it’s criminal that Colbert will be off the air soon.

A drama that shows why people from Florida never get to go to The Good Place.

I was very busy raising children, coaching soccer and basketball, and trying to move a career forward when this aired originally in early 2001. I recall seeing snippets of it, and loved each minute I actually saw, but for some reason, have never returned to PBS to check it out more closely, until now.

If you love Jazz, and love history, this is a spectacular series.

Edit to say: as a teenager/young man, who wanted more than anything, to have a career as a Jazz musician, and eventually walked away because of the difficult lifestyle, pay attention to how old the majority of the greats were when they died. It is/was not a casual, easy lifestyle.

Edit once more to say: The people I know who regularly post on this site are of an age, that you might find it more interesting to watch the episodes in reverse order. Working backward from the Jazz of the 60s and 70s, was how I discovered the art form and learned how it came to be where it was when I was young.

Took History of Jazz for Honors art elective at the U and we watched the whole series. It was wonderful and I turned my Dad onto it. He loved it too.

I don’t disagree, but isn’t it amazing that for a brief, shining moment, say 1966-1970 that all of it was happening (and cross-pollinating) at once?

Just watched “The Guns of Navarone”. I had never seen it before. Good movie.

I remember that one well. Having been born in 1956, as a young person, I watched a lot of World War II movies and TV shows en masse as that was a high percentage of what was being produced. I’m surprised @NewbombTurk that you somehow missed that one until now

I’m not sure how I missed it, but I did. I’m sure there are lots of movies that people think are “can’t miss”, that I’ve missed somehow.

Just wrapped up the final episode of The Boys. What a wonderful, ridiculous, disgusting, absurd, and brilliant show that was. Gonna miss it.

Loved the ending and felt like everyone got exactly what they deserved.

Has anyone else here been watching Widow’s Bay on Apple TV? It’s kind of a cross between horror and absurdist humor, and it pulls it off pretty nicely. Each episode is oddly unique.

Just watched Remarkably Bright Creatures. I highly recommend it.

Watching “Landman” right now. It’s very Texas.

Just finished Daredevil Born Again season 2. Easily the best Marvel show season and one of the best seasons of any kind of series I have seen in years.

Best depiction of Bullseye in a long time. I’m kind of glad they are pushing him in an antihero direction.

If you liked that one, try the one hour Punisher: One Last Kill. Based on the comic welcome back Frank Castle.

Figured I would give this a shot. Maybe Emma Myers will wolf out.
