I believe “recidivism” is the word you’re looking for.
They’ve got a name for people like you H.I. That name is called recidivism.
Thank you, old man brain didn’t remember.
Lockerbie: A Search for Truth
We’ve seen two episodes of this mini-series. It’s gripping, and Colin Firth does a great job of playing the very sympathetic protagonist. It has been a while since the atrocity occurred, so this movie brought a lot back to my memory and I also learned a great deal. Highly recommended. On Peacock.
The emotional depth to this film is a breath of fresh air. It hits the family dynamics, dealing with grief and just the fact we all contain multitudes so beautifully. The three leads are absolutely chewing scene and when Jay O Sanders comes in at the end he destroyed me. A film I could watch over and over and be sad while thinking of my own grief.
Yeah, I guess I should mention every year around this time I rent a guest house in the Hollywood Hills. The owner is a friend and she is a Movie Critic and voter for the Golden Globes. So, I usually have a stack of screeners waiting for me. I tend to only watch one but I took some time to veg out and enjoy the patio and 60-70 degree weather.
As for Sing Sing some of the actors ( a large portion) are program grads. Colman Domingo is brilliant and I can’t wait to see him in 2025 Off Broadway as Nat King Cole (probably will transfer to Broadway).
Excellent. I need to watch this and Operation Mincemeat with him on Netflix.
Looks good also.
So weird that Stanford’s recruiting class was 12 this season after top 2 the last three seasons. Surely this movie will have them #1 in recruiting, churro sales and talking tennis. 6/10 for me but I get why some viewers are horny for Tennis.

I just watched America Primeval on Netflix. Obviously not historically accurate but I thought it was good.
In a complete detachment from reality, my wife and I have been bingeing XO, Kitty on Netflix. It’s kind of a fun mindless watch.
Yes, I’m a video gaming nerd. Mythic Quest is great … Dead Pixels is a bit more raunchy and in the ilk of IT Crowd.
We watched a couple of movies tonight, Section 31, and Gladiator II.
I can see why Section 31 was not going to be released in the theaters. It wasn’t great. It was enjoyable, but in a Army of Darkness kind of way, but not as funny as Army of Darkness.
Gladiator II, ummm, not the worst historical fiction movie that I’ve seen, but far from the best. Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal were pretty good. Actually I would say Denzel Washington was very good, and Pedro was pretty good. Dude who played Lucius was too stiff, and tried too hard to be Russell Crowe Jr. Good thing this was historical fiction because world history would have been very different if this movie were an attempt to be history. There were just too many anachronisms in there, and it made my inner Roman history buff cringe.
HALO season 2.
Just finished Squid Game Season 2. I mostly enjoyed it, but thought it went too “hollywood blockbuster” towards the end (the big climactic scene is just flat-out bad). The new characters are great (even if a couple seem protected by plot armor) and they did a really great job building the relationships throughout. As in the first season, the games themselves are insanely tense.
Overall, I’d give it a B+
I think I must’ve been a teenage girl in a previous life given tonight is binge-watching “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and being entertained by them. Yeah it’s Valentines Day and my wife and I are old. Don’t judge me. ![]()
We were talking at work and a colleague was ranting about how awful they thought Raising Arizona was. Everyone has their own taste, but I went out and bought the film. happy to have it in the permanent home library selection.
Yodel-Ay-Ee-Oooo!!!
At the barbershop getting a haircut for one of the Wonder Twins. Whatever ESPN variant they have on is currently showing the Rock Skipping National Championships.
The announcers are taking this all VERY seriously, which just adds to the hilarity of it all. And they just signed off with “It’s a great day to toss your rocks!”

In case you’re wondering, the world record skips is 88.
Next up: the national air guitar championship!
