Interesting. I never took you as a breadth man.
I wish you could have heard how they did this one- it was like a new song. So so good. Imagine Buddy Holly and the Crickets covering it
Sorry, but that’s just straight bubble gum pop. The Leslie Gore song brings the noise though
First record I ever owned was Buddy Holly and the Crickets; Oh Boy.
Very under appreciated album, it’s one of my favorites
Elton is a unique talent. Like a lot of his stuff.
A lot of his earlier stuff has a country vibe:
Mavis Staples was recently in SLC and played this. She still sounds great.
I read a recent article where Tom Hanks said he had changed his mind about his favorite Elvis song. He said while re-recording some dialogue a song came on during the scene Elvis first goes to Graceland and he asked ‘where did this come from?”, and the director, Baz said, “I’ll send it to you.” I had the same experience and went home after seeing the movie and looked it up. A great rockabilly tune with the great Floyd Cramer on piano and Scotty Moore on guitar. And it was written by Charlie Rich.
