Our flight was finally postponed. Not cancelled. Until 11:30 this morning (Saturday). All passengers went home. No help with hotels for those who need it. All luggage checked, and we were told not to even try to get it back last night. So everyone is stuck, with our luggage held hostage. Latest word is the flight now leaves at 1:30 p.m. today. Just to make everything more interesting, SLC is covered with snow. We’ll see how this goes. We’ll get there somehow. Worst case, we’ll drive. In that case we’d at least be able to see the game.

After spending the last few days reading this thread I have to give props to you guys. You are truly Die Hard fans and it’s impressive. The last couple days have been tough specifically last night and I feel bad for you. Once again, enjoy the Rose Bowl!

So sorry about your predicament. As mentioned earlier, my wife’s checked bag is/was on your same flight… it got lost in the shuffle when our original flight wednesday got cancelled, so we’ve been waiting for it for two days. We’re just lucky we made it here.

I’ve heard at the JW Marriott LA Live where the team is staying. Might also be some RB specific stuff at the stadium based on a photo I saw earlier.

… the holidays was a mess on a good year. This year it had the potential to be a personal disaster by getting stranded for days on the way home or simply not getting out of SLC due to a lack of operational flights.I knew the only way I was going to make it to the game was to drive from SLC to LA. The itinerary would have been drive down today, spend the night at the hotel, go to the game tomorrow, then drive home on Sunday. At almost 60 years old, it would’ve taken me several days to recover from the trip…not worth it. Given I woke up to snow, and bad weather is expected most of the way on the drive, I’m really glad I decided to stay home,For those who finally get there, enjoy your time at the game. Safe travels.I will be hosting Nanook and smoking my batteries for the snowblower moving snow.

Sorry about all the travel travails. Whew!

My trip consists of my wife and I leaving our home in Orcutt (Northern Santa Barbara County) at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning and driving 3 hours South (fingers crossed) to Pasadena, head home after the game.

Somewhat on/off topic: My wife’s nephew was planning to take his family back to Hong Kong today after spending six months here. His flight was cancelled yesterday, and his visa’s expiring in two days. How’s that for a load of travel “fun”?

OK, we’re in our seats and waiting for takeoff. Delta got approval to fly with only 3 flight attendants. Lots of happy people and the agents and onboard staff are bending over backwards to help us and be nice. If this hadn’t happened we’d be in our car right now.
