He might be George Santos. Next thing he will tell us is that he was the architect who designed the structure.

And 72" tv isn’t anything to brag about these days. LOL :joy:

Dude, we can love our school without being intentionally obtuse about it. Baylor is ranked #77 in the country by US News and Utah is ranked #105. If you want to cherry pick some other random list or criteria go ahead, I’m just saying that bagging on Baylor for academics is a weak allegation (and just weird). Poke fun at Texas Tech and WVU all you want, but including Baylor in that list for some reason was dumb. Could have included a lot of other Big12 schools on the “academic smack talk” list as well, but Baylor and TCU don’t belong anywhere on that list.

SMH. You do you, bro. Is there anything more weak sauce than “blocking” though? Stick your fingers in your ears, I guess, it just seems like something a 3rd grader would do. Sorry you don’t like what I’m saying. Just trying to get the message out that we should be jumping at the Big12 and I predict we’re gonna be sorry we didn’t.

Total zoob…fixated with Baylor and says “we” all the time like he actually practices the drills. Oh…and rankings. LOL.

Man, this thread has really attracted some newbies and engagement of infrequent posters. Off season conference talk I guess.

It’s been interesting to put it mildly. Glad I’ll be gone all weekend. When I come back Sunday night or Monday I can zip through most of this without having to worry about spraining my eye muscles from rolling my eyes too much.

No traction on the Utah to SEC rumors? Sure, I started them but I also need better places to go for road games.

Just whisper in some BYU fan’s ear that you’re some high up at some SEC school, and that you’re thinking of inviting Utah. It’ll be all over cougarboard in a day or 2. They love to think that they “know” someone.

Maybe it’s the same troll?

Keep fiddling while Rome burns, man. I’m just someone that wishes we’d land in a good (actually better, financially) spot when the PAC crumbles, and I think we should be being proactive about making sure we end up in the Big12. Both Arizona schools and Colorado are doing just that. I’ll bookmark this thread for later when everyone realizes I was right to sound this alarm.

What exactly are these schools proactively doing that Utah is not doing?

Exactly. I think all of us would like to know that. I’m sure this guy knows, so he’ll enlighten us.

Things will be just fine. At a minimum we know we won’t be doing the “Independent” thing. I don’t believe for a minute playing in the Conference of Flat Earth and Ecclesiastical Schools will improve things for the U.

I hate the Half-T’ain’t Zone we are in right now.

That said, baseball starts today, and they may have a good season this year, too.

WBB is playing to keep their stranglehold on a two seed in March Madness and keeping their top 10 ranking this weekend. Their season is historic. Hopefully we go deep into the NCAA tourney.

Maybe we need to get back to licking our wounds over our thrashing in McKale Center last night and get ready for Little Sparky tomorrow. There is still a lot to play for. MBB overachieving this season has been a pleasant surprise. The CCT in Vegas may bring some excitement for us, too.

The Red Rocks are having their typical great season. The Ski team is having success, and has a legit shot to three peat. Spring ball starts in a couple of week.

The only downside I can see now is we haven’t figured out how to lure a USFL or XFL team to Salt Lake City. The stadium is big enough now for consideration by either league and would bring a new revenue stream to the University. As this has nothing to do with the conference…carry on.

Did I say I hated the Half-T’ain’t Zone?

These guys are obvious BYU trolls as they are parroting everything that is being said over and over on their own message board. Which by the way, there is almost no BYU content over there, it is nearly all Utah and PAC-12 content.

Let’s say the worst possible thing happens and the PAC dissolves. Do we really think that all of these schools are just going to languish or a school like Utah will get relegated to the MWC? Let’s see what the BIG 12 did. They took on four teams that are all lesser programs than the U. Does anyone really think they’ll say they have enough and pass on 10 available P5 program in favor of the 4 G5 programs they’ve added? Me neither.

Utah will be fine, it isn’t the end of the program even in the worst case scenario. Also, we fans have zero bearing on what happens here, nor do any of us know what is going on behind the scenes with any school or any conference. So we should stop pretending like we know what is going to happen. The good news is I can have my head in the sand, it has zero bearing on anything.

But today the thought occurred to me, which is pretty hilarious. BYU fans think what happened to them will happen to us. Because when the chips started falling last time, Utah and TCU got picked up… and BYU definitely did not. And the ONLY reason they got picked up was a desperation move by the Big 12, which only served to make a complete conference, but didn’t add value beyond that to the conference. In fact in viewership even with 4 schools to replace the two they lost they took a MASSIVE DIVE in viewership and fan base.

What is hilarious is they still think that we are either like them or less than them. They can’t stand that the last time they were really relevant was in 1996. Unfortunately their other good season, 2020, now has a massive asterisks next to it given their high school-esque schedule and the utter failure of Zach Wilson in the NFL.

So BYU fans here, pretending to be Utah fans, is really just a manifestation of what they see in the mirror. Their only hope of validation at this point is to see Utah fail, because they sure ain’t going to be winning any time soon. Misery sure does love company.

Or to put it another way any reasonable college athletics fan would understand. Suppose a conference could only pick one school from Utah, which one would it be? The one with the winning and consistently ranked football program, the one with AAU membership, the one with the larger fanbase (see graphs above), the one that has performed beyond expectations when it went to a P5 conference and the one with zero religious baggage… or BYU.

That’s a long way of saying, Utah is going to be fine and there is plenty of proof to believe that.
