Sigh. We’ve likely screwed the pooch at this point for a Big12 invite, and all from mere hubris. We should have been leading the charge, or at the very least securing a seat at the table from our best escape hatch. Instead we’ve thumbed our noses, and there’s a great chance we get left in the cold here. It’s so stupid.

Big12 doesn’t need our Utah market after adding BYU. CBS, NBC, Turner, and Fox have all removed themselves from Pac12 bidding, and ESPN has retreated significantly. AppleTV or Amazon aren’t going to cut it and we all know it. We should have been angling to be included in a Big12 migration. We’ll see what happens but I’m afraid we bit the hand that would have fed us.

I dont know how I am going to sleep knowing that Utah might not ever be associated with Baylor, Texas Tech and West Virginia.

You’d think someone living in Big XII country who’s friends with all the higher-ups would want his team in that conference. Lord knows I wish the Lakers & Dodgers were in the East Conference/Division. These late night tips/first pitches kill me.

Our Fanbase is having a tough time seeing the writing on the wall. Utah is in a very vulnerable state with the Pac 10. I hope I am wrong and the Pac 10 is around 20 years from now.

It’s a changing world and hopefully Utah gets in that second tier. That’s the best they can hope for. tier one is the Big Ten and SEC our goal is to be in tier 2 to not drop down to tier 3.

I get wanting eyeballs in SoCal and even sneaking into Texas. But I don’t see SMU or SDSU getting us there. Then again maybe they are better than cost neutral if they help us get a better TV deal.

It was the PAC 8 then 10 then 12. If it’s 10 or 12 in 2 years it won’t matter as long as the TV deal is better than the BIG12…which I predict t it will be.

And with all the changes I think Utah will be sitting pretty in the PAC battling Oregon and Washington every year to see who gets into the playoffs.

It’s been chaotic but I have a feeling that at least on the PAC front it’s gonna be fine.
