So bad it appears ESPN quit updating the box score after the half.
This is probably the biggest blowout Utah has suffered since the first year in the PAC-12 when Utah lost at Oregon. I believe (without looking it up) Utah lost something like 94-48 in that one.
Houston has struggled from 3; otherwise, this would be horrifyingly bad. Itâs bad enough.
I hate to be the guy that plays the âI remember in the Majerus days âŚâ but during Utahâs heyday, these kind of games were not uncommon in favor of Utah. I recall the 1999 regular-season finale when Utah played a ranked UNM team. The Lobos were good, but the Utes led something like 40-12 at halftime and led late in the game 71-29 before settling for a 30-point win.
The three wins were nice, and I loved beating BYU, but this program has a long, long way to go. Granted, Houston is elite defensively.
26 TOs, 13 FGs. What could go wrong? Oh, yeah, everything.
Thought Smith said âwe are growing up.â Maybe it was throwing up. Haha
Relentless effort by Houston, (11 blocks and 19 steals) and they never did âclear the benchâ. Perhaps their previous one point win over UCF had them motivated.
Not sure where to put this, but itâs pretty funny.
Good. He should be placing the blame squarely on the shoulders of Southern Cal. Or else blaming his school for being the little cartoon dog that follows Spike wherever he goes.
I love that theyâre getting screwed with travel. I just hope Southern Cal is getting screwed worse.
This Ute team just canât shoot the ball against good competition, away or at home. And free-throw shooting continues to be an issue, inexplicably.
Just saw the highlights of UA vs ISU. That was an exciting one in Tucson.
Sincerely hope this wasnât anyone in this board. Thought and prayers to this man.
Anybody go to the basketball game tonight vs. Cincy? I didnât. The Bearcats seem to have a decent record (12-7) so a 3-point home win seems OK to me.
Here are the stats:
That one got a little nerve-racking. Utah came out in the second half and played terribly before going on a run and hanging on for the win. They struggled big time with turnovers. Cincinnati was coming off a 28-point at BYU, so I donât think the Bearcats are great. Still, any win in this conference for this Ute team is big. Nine games in, Utah is 4-5, which is better than I expected at this point.
Weak start this afternoon. Same olâ same olâ. Canât shoot, Ausar wants to back everyone down and gets greedy, reckless turnovers.
The plus side thus far for me is that OKStâs home attendence appears to be as weak as ours.
Lohner comes in and gets two quick buckets, one in an inbounds lob that he tips and one backing his guy down. Someone explain to me why heâs not getting a lot of minutes.
Edit: Ok that awful turnover just now might explain it.
This team is so hard to watch.
I hear you. My ever-present inner optimist thanks that maybe heâs just been out of D1 basketball for a while (a year?) and has a lot of rust to deal with.
Utes in a dogfight at home with winless Colorado, looking pretty bad. Had a 12-point halftime lead and led by 11 about 14 minutes to go. Now itâs a two-point game. Sigh.
Tad Boyle almost had something to brag about at the next High Council meeting.
Utah had a late run to finish it off, thankfully. But 18 of 35 from the foul line? Thatâs inexcusably awful. A good defensive effort, however. I guess any win is a good one.
