Deion tells players he’s heading to CU

I was there for that game. That Buffs team seemed defeated and uninterested from the opening whistle. It was kind of sad to see actually.

It would be great if our defense wrecked Shadeur the same way we wrecked St. Jake.

It will be interesting to see how well he does coaching major college football. On one hand he has tremendous charisma and glitz- this has and will will work very well in recruiting.

On the other hand it seems that former players who excelled based on exceptional athletic ability have a hard time coaching more mundane athletes. If he could stock his teams with players as explosive as he was, watch out! if he has to coach PAC-12-average players, can he coax them into elite play? I am skeptical about that.

The problem with that theory is the trenches matter; and that’s often where former skills players as coaches fail.

There have been any number of former QB’s, LB’s and Safeties that have gone on to become very good HC’s.

CB’s…not so much. It is a rare corner who learns to read and call out play alignments and assignments on the defense. It is typically a job performed by a linebacker or safety. They have a cleaner look at an offense to make defensive calls and adjustments.

Coaching a handful of top 300 players to an undefeated season playing in the SWAC is one thing. Coaching a Power 5 program where a handful of high talent players isn’t enough players. It takes a roster full of talent to win consistenly. We all know every team in the conference has a roster with top flight talent as starters. The challenge has always been what happens when the #2’s and #3’s have to come in and play. It’s a big adjustment. If you’re U$C and forget to recruit a defense at all…it could be a long season in Boulder.

It sounds like he’s planning on a lot of the transfers from Jackson State stepping in and playing right away. I wonder how well they’ll do against better competition of the PAC. He may realize the guys he kicked off the team were better than those he brought in.

Deion is doing Deion…15 Colorad9 players hit the portal since Sunday.

He may not have a team to field at this rate.

I read somewhere that Deion said he might bring in 25 additional transfers in the off season. I guess with the portal the 25 scholarships per year are no longer a thing? I don’t know how that works but this sounds like a recipe for disaster, to bring in so many new players during the summer. I get that there is a lot of buzz in the program now but are those 25 players going to be an upgrade?

If he is so depleted that he has 25 scholies available for bringing in summer transfers, the Buffs are already in trouble. If they keep bleeding #1 players, he could be looking at a 1-11 record next season. Why 1? Because CSU.

I saw just one lineman. Maybe Deion has a lot of talented position players coming in, but everything starts up front, and building those lines is not a one year turnaround. Ask Lincoln Riley.

Looks like two OL entered the portal. His next step up to the SEC may take a little while.

He could be taking the mark pope circuitous route to the sec.

Who can we pick up now?

This is not an alarming or unexpected exodus.

Hahaha, sure. I may be proven wrong, but this to me looks like an unmitigated dumpster fire trainwreck ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ combined into one. And honestly, all you really need to note from that article other than the blatant cheerleading is in the lede photo: not a single Colorado logo to be seen on “Coach Prime,” but one for himself.

Might I suggest the purchase of an arc welders helmet as a precautionary move. Between TDS starting up in the BIG 12 and Colorado basically blowing up their team, if you want to enjoy the flash and burn of their respective fan bases melting down, having the proper equipment to savor the moment is of paramount importance…just sayin’.

Wait…Colorado has fans?

Well, the new stadium dispensary helped boost attendance.
