I’ve been around since before last month - so you can’t say I just showed up post BYU win. Ya’ll aren’t always the most welcoming bunch, so I don’t post much. But I have posted about more than just BYU.

I don’t troll…er…OK - I almost never troll. I might throw out some hyperbole here and there in response to what I read - but I’m rarely looking to just throw crap for a response. Typically I’m looking for an actual conversation - and I’m OK having different views and perspectives. I try to understand where the other person is coming from, and will admit that I hope that others will try to at least understand where I’m coming from before telling me how wrong I am.
I’ve been on other team’s fan sites - I’m assuming Texas, Oklahoma, ND, and USC would qualify as “larger market”? Honestly - I get about the same there as here, for the most part. Some willing to have a conversation and others looking to cuss and put down anyone from another team.
I also understand that as Utah and BYU are rivals (at least in most people’s eyes) I should expect a less friendly version of whatever welcome I get elsewhere.
Frankly - I think it helps there be less vitriol in the rivalry when we interact with people from the other side who aren’t dicks about it. So I try to support my team, sure - but I also try not to be a dick about it. I have to admit - once in a while I react to something/someone, so I suppose I may not always be successful. I also understand that ya’ll probably interact with people who are dicks about it from time to time, so I try to be understanding when that’s the response I get. But my hope is that we can support different teams and still be friendly - even if we can’t be friends.
Humm, it seems to load just fine with no porn on my android phone…could it be something in your browsing history causing the problem? Or if you are accessing from Utah County, perhaps the magical internet just assumes the type of website you folks like to view?
to clarify the reason i’m disengaging is that this site has a handful of persistent voices that are a poor representation of fans of utah in real life. This place can be weird dark feedback loop - and the evidence continues that this is what is preferred. There are interesting discussions to be had across fanbases, but they’re not going to happen very often here.
I am sure you will find the charm and warmth of your new conference brethren much more to your liking. Because when you converse with their fans “never is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day”…I’m sure you will be treated with the respect and deference your fanbase so richly deserves. Fun fact; there’s a current VICTIM thread on cooterbored where they’re crying about not getting into the PAC12, and how all the PAC12 schools are a bunch of religious bigots. The cooters play the victim card quite often. Seems you caught that disease.

As the other new user of the month who is actually a Ute fan. Glad you came by, but I’m pretty tired of having these types of conversations with byu fans. Constantly seeking affirmation of value wears thin. It’s fine to be a fan and support your team. But what did you expect coming over here? A red carpet welcome. This who thing is for us Utah Utes fans. Anyone can join, but don’t be surprised if we don’t care for your opinions on everything. Also kettle meet pot, cougar board is nothing but a hyped up feedback loop on glory days. Enjoy your season and have a great day

Nope. We are a fair representation. We are the ones who pour beer on fans of other teams, but only when we are drunk, but that’s all the time.
