Big XII 2025-26 Season

They just lost to a 1-2 Tulsa team who got beat by New Mexico State. Oof.

Gundy’s seat must be scorching right now.

I thought he was canned last year, but apparently they restructured his contract to pay $1M less, but if they fire him without cause it’s a $15M buyout. After 2027 it’s $10M.

I think the bad mojo started when they didn’t include the “T” in the huge lettering in the stadium’s name, now it’s just “Boone Pickens Stadium”.

You’re either T. Boone Pickens, or you’re not. How embarrassing.

Williams is hard to tackle. Fundamentals need to be improved.

Are these PAC 12 refs? C’mon man.

(Whoops, wrong thread. Still, point stands.)

Not Big XII, but still funny
May be an image of 1 person, playing football and text that says 'C Thomas D Dabo Swinney did not lie when he said he would stop coaching when players began getting paid'

Should have named the stadium Slim Pickens Field.

Bad News: That was rough. Good News: WVU is next on the schedule. That’s a good ‘get right’ game for down the stretch.

What in the wide wide world of sports is going on here?

Riding in the Atomic Bomb was as Cowboy as it gets in our modern times.

Although, I don’t really get any giggles thinking about OSU’s problems after yesterday.

TT gets a BYE, then on the road to Houston, but the way the T-Tech R-Raiders stood up our OL they will be the favorites.

Flip a coin on their QBs. As far as I’m concerned Hammond is the love child of Andy Dalton, even has the ginger thing going on. Our D was getting tired, but he was dropping dimes like I haven’t seen since Justin Herbert.

Hearten up, Utes. May I point out the year we spanked Oregon twice, and the same with USC (who we beat four in a row).

I’m not saying we’ll find a way to a rematch in the CCG. Please. Let’s just try to shake this off and make the trip to Morgantown. I hope the equipment truck stops wherever Craigs List has Mojo listed, along the way.

EDIT - some (sobering) perspective: Inside Texas Tech’s ‘open checkbook’ and the school’s quest to rule the Big 12 - The Athletic

I’ve seen recruiting news on Texas Tech, but didn’t realize how big the fire is under the smoke:

Supposedly there are 2 Billionaires who are all in. One them had his wife complain they were spending only on men’s sports, so they spent $1M to bring in a superstar pitcher on the softball team, got all the way to the championship.

Supposedly have several boosters willing to spend 7 figures each.

Alabama and Ole Miss are pretty upset at the magnitude of the spending. (wow)

IMO, long shot possibility the Amazon river of money through Lubbock is the bridge too far for money in college athletics. Maybe not. (Maybe time to support the Utes, but start following the Big Sky.)

I have a soft spot for Tech. My grandfather played there when they were first establishing a football program way back when. So, if they do well, aside from when they play our Utes, I’m ok with it. If Bama and Ole Miss wanna ■■■■■ about Tech spending money, well, they should pony up their money.

It’d be nice if we did the same or similar, but something tells me that we don’t have that kind of cash just for sports. Oil money does wonders for programs.

They need to worry about why they vote for Tommy Tubberville and not donors for a kid’s games.

THAT’S the picture I was thinking o!

Classic absurdity from a classic film!

… 3 lipsticks, 3 pair of nylons. Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.
