Internet: Those who live in the urban-suburban places, yes. Rural Utah…not so much.
Travel: outside of LDS who serve missions is generally kept to the Western US / Western Canada. Some travel more. Back in the day I new adults who had never been to Disneyland (a place I went to a lot annually).
The roughly 10,000 to 15,000 fans who will be in the Swamp are a thing that has developed since joining the PAC12.
Just to jump in. How about Sheetz and WaWa? Until we moved here, I had never herd of either. They’re up and down the Eastern Seaboard. WaWa, generally Norther Va north, and Sheetz Souther Pennsalvania south. There seems to be quite the loyalty to the individual brands. Just a random wgaf piece of trivia.
1st, Laker fan. Second, just didn’t enjoy my time there the few times I have been. Love the rest of Mass.
Nah. There are some travelers down here. That said, I get your point, sort of. Buc-ee’s is a much bigger attraction than Maverik. Plus, it’s based on Texas and I know a ton of Utah folks with ties in Texas. That was more my point. I see Utah fans as more than people who stay restricted by boundaries of the state.
Much like Cheerwine the expansion of Sheetz and Wawa have increased recently.
I’m sure many on here have heard of Tim Horton’s even if they’ve never been to Canada.
I’ve only heard of Tim Horton’s. Haven’t been to Canada since I was a teenager. Fond memories of the Canadian Rockies, wouldn’t mind visiting again; Alaska too.
That’s kind of my point. Most have heard of it. It’s not like Buc-ee’s is Braum’s in Oklahoma, Pal’s Sudden Service in Western part Virginia and East Tennessee or like a Blake’s Lotaburger in NM. Those two brands are still very regional in national knowledge.
Love the Cape. Made the wrong assumption P-town would be family friendly on a 4th of July weekend. Lol. I really love New England. My family is all over Salem all the way to New Haven Ct.
Provincetown is so eclectic.
I mean, one can interact with some of the more outrageous and creative members of the community out and about, while also hearing fluent Portuguese spoken by some of multi-generational fishing boat families on the docks.
Epicenter for pirates, writters, painters, actors and artists of all stripes.
Check out Kitchen Confidential, by Anthony Bourdain, who cut his teeth there.
My brother lived and sailed outa Marblehead. Had friends who went to Salem State Colledge.
Oh, it was cool. We managed. I’ve read the book. Anthony and I had a mutual friend (still my friend obv who is a food writer who was on Anthony’s show). Hearing Portuguese there is similar to hearing German in Helen, Georgia. Always takes you aback at first.
I just got back from a 12 day expedition cruise in Alaska. I cried when I was headed to the airport. Oh, and it started out in Vancouver - yes, I saw a Tim Horton’s, though I did not partake.
It’s just an upgraded Dunkin Donuts, IMHO. That said, the “Tim Bits” and coffee are solid if you need something to make you fat but also awake for a long drive.
