The A’s owner is either the richest or among the richest owners in baseball.
The SF Giants ownership funded and built their own stadium without funding from tax payers.
Hard to blame Oakpand residents IMO.

I don’t blame Oakland for refusing to provide corporate welfare to a stadium project. The A’s are notoriously stingy when it comes to payroll. The result - they are consistently among the bottom rung of teams over the last two decades. Their attendance was also among the worst. This was not going to be a “feel good” story like the one in the movie “Major League.” It seemed destined to end like the Expos being moved to Washington DC. The Rays almost went the same way.
Remember the Giants themselves almost moved to St. Petersburg, then Bonds came, the owners built the stadium (as you note), and that was that.
Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell
I like listening to Coast to Coast when I’m driving really late or leaving really early. I find it entertaining.
“Indianapolis Clowns”?
Nice.

Hey, watch “It Ain’t Over” on Netflix. It’s a life story of Yogi Berra. You’ll love it. Beautifully done.
I’ve always been in awe of Koufax’s pitching motion. (This snip from Facebook is clearly of a post from the fall.)

The Oakland / Las Vegas A’s are planning on playing 10% of their home games outside of Las Vegas. That includes possible domestic and international sites. I remember when the Jazz did that and played a few home games in Las Vegas.
I went to Las Vegas to watch a Jazz game when I was a student at Dixie College. I got to see Kareem break the all-time scoring record that night with a sky hook. That Showtime team the Lakers had was amazing to watch. The Jazz back then…not so much.

People will always wonder: What would his stats be if he hadn’t been required to be a fighter plane ace? This graphic doesn’t show his time in the Korean War. He learned to fly jet fighters for that one.
It sucks Vin isn’t around to see and call Shohei joining the 40 home run, 40 stolen bases in a season club.
At night, I could get the Dodgers broadcast from Los Angeles on my little transistor radio when I was a kid in Ogden (so many years ago). Vin Scully made me feel like I was at the game.
Really exciting finish to the Little League World Series.
The White Sox have now lost 100 of their first 131 games, becoming the first team to accomplish that in 108 years. Current pace could allow them to set the all time record of losing 124 games in a season. My Sox jerseys and caps have never seen the light outside of the closet this year for very good reason.
