What I’m watching

Watched the X-files pilot with my Stranger Things-obsessed daughter last night. She was entranced - looks like I’ll be watching all of X-files again.

I am not a fan either, and I went into watching with some trepidation. In the end, the movie really isn’t horror in the way that horror is generally defined nowadays. The movie transcends any horror classification into something much bigger and bolder than a straight up horror movie.

We’ve been slowly rewatching X-Files and Fringe. FWIW, Fringe is on Hulu ad free, at least in our package it’s ad free.

I felt that way about No Country For Old Men. It truly has an ongoing, encroaching horror to it. As well as kind of an homage to westerns without being a western either.

I took a quick look around and did not see that anybody else is watching The Pitt.

I’ve been binging a bit on it this week. I think it’s great. If anybody else is watching this, let me know who your favorite character is. I have one, but I’ll wait to see what others think.

It looks like a cool show, but I refuse to subscribe to another streaming service out of sheer principle.

I enjoy the Red Hot Chili Peppers, music. At least their hits…
I haven’t been a full on hardcore fan but I must say that the openness warmth intelligence and general wisdom imbued by Flea is refreshing. Tons of F-Bombs NSFW without headphones, but I don’t mind at all.

Everybody we know is addicted to the Pitt. what a terrific show.

I can guess who your favorite character is: charge nurse Dana Evans. Mine too.

second favorite is Bryan’s Cranston’s daughter. Third is Whitaker.

Love it. I like all the characters. Don’t dislike any. My favorite might be Louey ((Louis?) Maybe Robby.

Yes, that was a surprisingly moving film. Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson did a great job inhabiting their characters. Thumbs up!

She and Olgivy make quite the pair. Great cast additions this season.

I was surprised Kate Hudson was such a good singer, although I suppose it runs in her blood. And I love Patsy Cline.

I like them all too. The one that impresses me is Dr. Mel King, played by Taylor Dearden. She’s just a fine actress. I love watching her character. She’s not playing someone beautiful or uber-charismatic, just a very interesting and likeable young physician whom viewers want to care about. (She’s Brian Cranston’s daughter, so no surprise–she has good acting genes.)

But the entire cast is terrific. Noah Wiley (Dr. Robbie) carries the show.

I actually like Langdon. Robby and Santos are too hard on him. He should have started over somewhere else on a clean slate, but then what would the plot be?

And now it looks like Robby’s replacement is going to turn against him too
