What I’m watching

I’ve always enjoyed the Dead, beginning in their very early years, and while I was never a true Dead Head, I have always been a huge fan of The Wall.

@salUTE There’s a million kinds of Dead Heads. I think you’re pretty much “on the bus” :joy:
I have always appreciated all the different band members transparency regarding their feelings about different songs, performances, and equipment over the years. Believe me, there were lot’s of differences.. Unlike many bands, they put a great deal of money into developing new technologies; which is illustrated in these two books. As a life-long, professional gigging musician, you might enjoy going granular on the actual development, short life and demise of the wall. Ultimately leading to pretty much Industry standardization of live concert sound, lighting, faze canceling microphones and other innovative creations - including recording and listening to their performances, while allowing fans to do the same.

Perhaps you and other sound experts/enthusiasts might enjoy

Truly amazing biogrophy/ethnogtophy of times past - that might just be not so far away.

“Task” an HBO series with Mark Ruffalo has been very good. Great acting and a compelling story and zero dragons.

The casting is perfect.
Amazing how quickly people forget.

I just saw part of this documentary on Ed Sullivan and it’s been great. I had no idea how supportive and brave Ed was for celebrating, inspiring and booking African Americans on his show. When I was a young kid, He appeared ancient, and stiff; but it turns out he was an exceptionally devoted fan of black culture and the civil rights movement.
It’s also quite striking to see how blatant and culturally ingrained racism was.

Going through the Halloween Movies library and found a classic.

My daughter thinks it sucks because it’s so old.

And she wonders why she gets in trouble all the time.

Here’s an amazing video of a red tail hawk getting chased off a favorite tree of “Jackie” who then gets dive-bombed by the RTH and another chase ensues. you can freeze the frame and see the RTH in the dive and the chase. background vocalization of the RTH and also Jackie’s partner, “Shadow.”

I’ve always been fascinated with birds of prey.

My younger brother, and his friend poached a couple of red tail hawk eggs from their nest in Perry’'s Hollow around 1968, when the boys were about eleven, incubated, hatched, and then spent a lot of time catching mice, etc. to feed them. (They were not anything like RFK.) My father was an SLC police officer, and knew that what the boys were doing was illegal, but he insisted that they return the birds to the wild and required they learn how to do so, as he provided guidance and knowledge along the way.

They raised the fledgling birds, teaching them to hunt and then released them. As a family, we watched them in the wild for a little while after they were released.

It was something very special to watch, and I’ve always been fascinated with bird of prey since.

Last episode of “Task” aired last night. Excellent series, great themes on Fatherhood and forgiveness. 9 out of 10 IMO.

I just watch Mr. Nobody. It’s one of the few films that Jared Leto is watchable, IMO. I like the premise, and trying to keep track of everything was pretty fun. I may do my best to find an extended cut to see if there was more that I missed. It was fun.

I’m still irritated that he got the lead in the latest Tron movie. I love Tron, but will skip it because he’s one of the few actors that I absolutely cannot stand watching. He ruins everything he’s in.

Damn near everything. I suspect Mr Nobody came out before Leto could get too weird.
