Honestly, I don’t give a rat’s ■■■ whether I’m judged or not, too many other important things in life.
Over a decade ago, I occasionally posted here and want to return to add my sincere welcome to the Big-12. I get that some of you may view it differently, as in dealing with the Pac’s implosion, and respect that. Hopefully, the Big-12 becomes equally comfortable with the passage of time.
I recently watched Monday’s press conference and have nothing but the highest praise for Taylor Randall and Mark Harlan, both how they handled that and what they’re doing in their respective positions. Supposedly, I should feel disdain for anything involving Utah. However, I firmly believe in giving credit where credit is due and want to give a huge shout out and attaboy to both of them. They’re a credit to their professions and the university, much as I feel about Shane Reese, Tom Holmoe and Kalani. It’s indeed possible to root for one of the schools in the Holy War and still respect the other and acknowledge things it does right too.
The older I get, partly for starting a PhD at Utah, the more I despise smack, not only for having enjoyed my time there but also because I have some top notch neighbors and professional colleagues who cheer at RES and would be a credit to any school’s fanbase, ditto the BYU fans I know. More power to them and all of you. It feels good to be back in the same conference and the annual encounters moving back to November.
Until then, I hope you close out your Pac sojourn in top form and look forward to next year.
Why would you go there? I used the word “deplorable” to describe a situation, or situations, that I have found wrong, and hence deplorable. I said nothing about the GOP, a state(s), or a people; it was not a generalizing comment nor was it an ascription of any collective. If anything, I defended your viewpoint. Oh, there are plenty of Dem dbags. I’m neither.
hmmm…interesting.
Just to provide some context and to elucidate…I think the likes of Jim Jordan, governor Abbot, Ted Cruz, governor Huckabee, Mike Lee, etc., are horrible people and make deplorable decisions. There, an added level of precision has been provided and, no, no generalization here, either.
I’m too old and tired to go on a hate fest. I get some knuckleheads gotta have their grievances, and we see that trash everywhere. As I am in the football room and not the politics and war room, I am going to sip my Hefeweizen and talk trash.
As for TAMU, police blotter smack is weak sauce. That said, owning a stadium where the upper decks sway in the wind…that’s a building hazard looking for a place to happen. Now they may be in the $EC, but being on the list of “also played” teams is not something to aspire to. They’ve been in the $EC for a decade and have one signature solid win! Having one big regular season win is like the blind squirrel finding an acorn - it’s bound to happen at some point. Until they can get to a CCG, they are just collecting a check - and a bunch of losses.
H-town is nice, when it isn’t having a Hurricane trying to wipe it off the planet. I enjoyed a visit I had there a long, long time ago. Given all the growth in the city and surrounding area, I am sure it doesn’t look like where I visited. Then again, I grew up in Orem-Provo and those turned into SoCal 600 miles removed. A road trip to see UH might well be worth the trip. Hopefully they spent more money than TAMU did on their stadium. ![]()
Anyway, I’m off to get ready for next year’s inaugural smack list for the new conference. Given the new locales and cultures, it should be a fun adventure…but not until we get to work on the three-peat done.
GO UTES!!! SWAMP THE GATORS!!!
Alrighty, how about we all drop the political innuendo, and related. Yes I participated when teasing about rainbows. I should not have done so. If all y’all want to talk political ■■■■, go to reddit, or facebook, or anywhere but our fanboard.
As wise man once said, “there are 2 things you don’t talk about in polite company – politics and religion.” So, let us all presume that we are all polite company, and not talk about politics or religion. Yes, this goes for me as well.
We Ute fans should all be glad that we’ve been welcomed to the Big 12. Yes, we would have preferred the PAC stay together, but we all saw how that played out. We have a new home, let’s go have some fun cheering on our teams.
That’s fair.
All that aside; go get you another PAC Championship
Another zoob. I can spot them easily by their self-owns
Dumbass
Bravo. This is the kind of thinking that’s needed.
But there better be beer…I just got my Ninja Suit cleaned. ![]()
Nah… Iowa State doesn’t have a hand signal or whatever. That seems weird. We just mostly yell at the refs and give them the one middle finger salute.
Now that I think about it… we do have a hand sign. Go figure…
So it wasn’t “You’re Number One” we were seeing flashed at us in Ames?
Go figure. ![]()

JK - Actually the fans were great. Great host - fun tailgate. It was a good trip.
Maybe they couldn’t get Kid Rock…
Or Jason Aldean? ![]()
Or Nickleback.
Envy always finds its expression. Interestingly, there hasn’t been much to envy about the Provo-based football programs since, well, maybe 1996–depending on how one defines “envy.”

Looks like were in a pod with Byu, Colorado, and the Arizona’s

We don’t play AZ in 2025, ASU in 2026, or CO in 2027. The only team we play each year is TSPP. So not sure we have pods or not.
Well, that is going to be expensive out of the chute for travel. God knows what MB and WBB will look like.
