I was one of them
Nice win for the Utes, guaranteed a winning record in the post season, even if it’s just the NIT. Gabe was the difference, obviously, but a couple of notes about the crowd:
-
A lot of kids there tonight, which is encouraging.
-
The baskeball IQ of the crowd was impressive. When Deivon pulled down that last rebound, the crowd went bananas and gave him a standing O, like he hit a halfcourt shot.
I don’t care if it’s just the NIT, tying Jason Kidd for the PAC single season record with four triple doubles in a season is a serious accomplishment.
The more games we can play in the NIT, the more it gets some of the sour taste out, it’s a little bit like a bowl game providing extra practices. I’ve heard a few interviews where the players note how close the team is, socially. The chemistry is really good, and if we can get an infusion through the portal, this postseason run helps lay a good foundation.
Definitely better than the guys just watching the big dance like everyone else.
PS - I love Micah Bernard as a running back, but there’s a reason he’s not a basketball star. He & some other FB players had a little shooting competition at a break, and the guys looked like they’ve been hitting the weights, but that definitely doesn’t translate into basketball skill.
I have 4 excellent tickets for Wednesday’s game against VCU. Only need 4. If you want the other 2, they’re yours for $20.00. As Mad Magazine used to say on the cover, “Our Price! Cheap!”
I’ll take two if still available.
Ex-coach Tom Crean comes strong in making the case for getting excited about playing in the NIT. We need to get the Hunty rocking Wednesday night at 7p.
Tickets are taken now.
We now have a definitive final home game for one of the greatest Utes ever… and it’s a big one. No reason the Hunty shouldn’t be packed.
Absolutely sir
Well this game off to an ugly start for VCU
Don’t like this line up. Getting sloppy.
From 18-2 and the ball to 18-10 pretty quickly. Not good.
anyone else have an issue with former byu baseball coach (Mike Littlewood) reffing this game? He just T’d up Craig Smith. That’s a conflict in interest.
I cannot stand Corey Williams as an analyst. His voice is monotonous and I think he is wrong in his analysis half of the time.
Is it just me, or are these announcers some serious VCU homers?
Out of town and so could not make it to the game tonight, but watching on TV - I’d much rather be there, games like this are much harder to watch on TV
Hopefully Utah comes out a little less tentative than they were for much of the first half.
Go UTES!
Wow, wow, wow! A little less tentative indeed!
10 mins to go, up 24. Gives me hope for playing Indiana state IN Indiana.
Hey there Keith… Missing you!
And the rout is on. Sheesh. Almost feels like the old days in here…maybe 7k or so?
…and Smith with another triple double.
