Utah in the NIT, 2024

Utah by 5 against Iowa per Vegas

Well, I realized this morning I could swing going to the game on Sunday night, but the stupid ticket portal will not allow me to buy an aisle seat (or even one of those at the top of lower bowl in the wheelchair adjacent spots), without buying a second ticket next to it. Carolina Cycling Ute, Newbombturk, and HoopUte have all met me, so they know how huge I am, how long my legs are and the disability issues I have that prevent me from sitting in interior seats with my knees up my nostrils.

I understand the cynical mercenary angle of what is being aimed for, but it blatantly disregards this ADA issue for me, so I will be going to the Stadium Ticket office on Monday and raising holy hell over this. It is just total garbage that a single, disabled person would have to buy TWO tickets just to get the needed Aisle/WC companion seat. I was really excited about being able to get to a game, and have it be a tournament game on our floor. Sigh.

Quick check, is ANYTHING broadcasting the NIT games that I could access via Internet, rather than cable/satellite TV?

Thanks!

I’m so sorry you’re being treated this way! I purchased tickets yesterday and was surprised that I couldn’t buy them one by one, but only in pairs. I do think if you showed up alone and explained your situation they’d accommodate you (because not to accommodate you would be a violation of federal law). A phone call tomorrow, early in the day before things get crazy, might be quicker and easier. Good luck!

I’m at my old farm house in southern Idaho tonight and just seeing this, but…

I’ll be back in SLC tomorrow afternoon, and wanting to watch the game live, but have no tickets, and a wife who is a bit less than enthusiastic . It you still want to go, board mail me, we’ll get A PAIR of tickets, and go to what I expect to be a GREAT game.

Today’s game will be just the second meeting all-time between Iowa and Utah.
The Utes beat Iowa, 92-88, at the Los Angeles Classic on Dec 29, 1964 under legendary coach Jack Gardner.

Doug Moon’s and Skip Kroeger’s senior season. Granny Lash may also have been on that team!

Moon’s senior season was the previous year.

Are you saying that even in 1966, Zoobs whined about everything?

And their 1984 Holiday Bowl win WAS NOT A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

My memory of Bill Ivey was that he was a really tall stiff. A towering 6’8"!

Yup, I was thinking of the 63-64 team. I thought Moon and Kroeger were in the same class.

See, now this Ute team (so far) could have played, and quite possibly won, in the NCAA Tournament. Hopefully, they keep it up.

Went to the game. Good times. Madsen was lighting it up. And we make free throws.
