I’m sure Washington saw that Wayshawn Parker just committed and said, I’m out… he wanted to be the feature back. This transfer portal $h!t is just complete madness.
Another reason I no longer support CFB, and CBB is next. I couldn’t care any less if CFB implodes. I won’t watch it. I won’t donate. Even if it succeeds, whatever that means, I still won’t participate.
It would be nice if Utah does well because I’m a Utah fan, but no support from me. For now, I will continue to support other non-rev sports such as WBB, volleyball, soccer, etc., as season-ticket holder. For how long? Who knows.
WR Joseph Williams flipped to Colorado, who I’m sure offered him a bigger payday.
I’m pretty much to the point where I only want to hear about portal signings… “commitments” are meaningless.
Edit: I needed a chuckle so I asked ChatGPT to write up an announcement for someone getting divorced because they’re having an affair but to make it sound like a transfer portal announcement. Here’s what came back:
Official Announcement
After much reflection and consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal, effective immediately.
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to my spouse, who has been my partner through the highs and lows of this journey. The past years have been filled with growth, memories, and experiences that I will always cherish. However, I believe it’s time for me to explore new opportunities that align better with where I see my future.
This was not an easy decision, and it comes with a heavy heart. But after careful evaluation, I feel that my personal needs and goals can best be met in a new environment. Sometimes, life presents unexpected connections that challenge us to reevaluate our current situation, and I have come to realize that pursuing this new path is the best decision for everyone involved.
I want to thank my friends, family, and community for their continued support during this transition. This is not the end of my journey, but rather the start of an exciting new chapter. I’m looking forward to what the future holds and remain committed to living authentically and intentionally.
Thank you all for your understanding, and I hope you’ll respect my privacy as I navigate this process.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
I’m disappointed that it left out the obligatory, “With that said,…”.
Is anyone else getting kind of nervous about the number of players coming to us from non-P4 programs? I mean, it took the Utes 4 recruiting cycles, +/-, to move up from a majority MWC talent level to a PAC-12 competitive level. Of course, maybe our coaches have the trademark Whittingham-era eye for talent that can be coached up, but when i see players like Tanuvasa leaving, I wonder: will the incoming guys be at or near his level, or the level of the others who seem to be leaving for financially stronger programs?
