Utah Football 2025

Never had an interest in highly comped semi pro sports. It really was about staying connected to my University and having fun while doing it.

Think that era is over.

Now, and it has been going on for a while, billionaires can use public’s money to build their entertainment empire, use debt as tax shelters, and then deploy funds to develop semi-pro teams without meaningfully decrease their personal wealth.

Yayyyyyy. Reap what we sow.

The Tulane QB is going to Duke. Interesting move. Hope Utah can grab someone good or next season could be worse.

I think this is fabulous. I am no expert, but he seems to be a huge upgrade.

Didn’t the Shiny Rocks have a running back that was entering the portal as well?

I’m glad we have at least one experienced QB on the roster now. Just saw his stats and his height. He kinda looks like a Bottari kinda kid. I mean If we had started Bottari for the last 8 games we’d probably be in a bowl right now.

That being said I do kinda wish we could get a 6’2ā€ QB again at some point. Love that Dampier is mobile and all but the Defenses are going to be a lot rougher than why MWC esp if we don’t fix the Oline.

No blood No foul  Complain away. I love the guy, but clearly the NIL $ has affected the locker room. It’s no llonger cool to kill yourself in practice every day for very little money while some people are bathing in it. In pro ball that’s the way the cookie crumbles. That’s why I loved college ball. Everyone was getting a free education and other status perks on campus but it was about being a UTE and trying our best etc… Now that Cam is older and maybe not necessarily wiser, It becomes more of a liablility issue. How long can we keep someone with star status, but might not make it through a game or a season. why can’t we recruit and develop quaterbacks on a consistent basis; like sooo many other teams? Are our chances better investing inu an older, beloved, but multiple times injured player or getting a new guy with the same spirit, moxie and ablility as Cam?
Without malice or prejudice, I’m OK with turning the page. Is Patrick Mahomes still eligable, cuz he didn’t graduate.

I was about to chuckle then I realized we will probably see some crazy thing soon where someone can make more money in college thru some loophole and suddenly Brett Farve is playing for Alabama…

I, among others might support BF recieving a quality education…

Baseball sends major league players down to the minors to develop or rehab…NFL could easily do the same as NCAA rules die due ti players having employment status or free agent contracts. As long as the money is there they will come.

I remember someone saying Alabama could compete against some NFL teams (that probably wasn’t true) but if Alabama could hire an NFL team heck yes you know they will.

Let’s start a pool bet on how long it takes before we see an NFL player…I’m going to bet 2 years.

I didn’t realize Utah parted ways with RB coach Quinton Ganther.

Probably not the worst thing in the world, tbh.

Let’s hope the new RB coach can bring the #1 rated RB in the transfer portal with him

This is what’s wrong.

I’m excited. He’s only 5’10". Is that a worry?

Yes. He has shown an ability to play reasonably high-level college football though, which probably matters more than his height. This will be his second season with the same OC and QB coach, too, so hopefully he will improve a bit. This should at least make our offense ā€œinterestingā€ next year, and certainly better than this year.

Got a new WR coach too: Micah Simon.
