Utes talking with 3* Jeremiah Johnson, a 6’3" 2024 PG from Wasatch Academy. He has some high major offers.
Thanks for the update. Don’t know where his upside is, but right now the numbers are kind of average for a HS prospect.
Looks kind of smallish. Will need to spend time in the weight room and the lunchroom to get some mass to handle the physicality.
Then again, Rick said Brittain Johnson looked like an AIDS case, and he turned out well, so…

Seriously though, this team needs several areas filled, but most good to great college teams are that way because of their point guard.

Jeremiah Johnson was released 50 years ago. Last week The Broadway in downtown had a showing so I went. I’ve seen it about a million times on TV but not in the theater.
It is one of my all-time favorite movies. So great to see it in a theater.

Their answer? A big wing and a combo guard who can score. They’re right. The problem? Everyone, literally everyone, in the country also wants/needs those very same things.

I would say they need a pg who can penetrate and get to the rim and dish to the perimeter when he gets cut off. Wooster improved a lot this past year but does not have the necessary speed and athleticism. They need more than 1 guy who can shoot the 3 at 35% or better.
Ben Carlson is a sub. He can’t be your starting 4 unless his scoring becomes much better.
Maybe Exacte can become that combo guard and another consistent outside threat.
Maybe the JUCO kid can, but I’m holding my breath on that.
Luka didn’t appear to me to be capable of playing at the level we need him to play at.

Keita is about the same size as Sanogo at U Conn.
Sanogo averaged 7 points & 5 rebounds his first year. Keita 4 & 4.
Both top 100 recruits.
Interesting to see how much Keita improves in year 2.?

Hopefully he improves a lot. Kuzma made a huge leap from his Fr to So years.
I think Keita has the potential to make a huge improvement.
