And now another peeve. KSL inserting auto play video ads on their main web page. Or any news site shoving auto play anything anywhere. I have all the switches set and filters I can on my phone. This is extremely frustrating and they did it before then stopped. Guess I won’t visit again until it’s stopped again. But it’s a strong peeve this morning.

Auto play adds are really ubiquitous now. Sometimes, out of annoyance I just click off the article. How many new roofs, belly fat reduction or erectile enhancement products do we need? I guess I have to worry when I’m inundated with adult incontinence brief adds…

I dont remember which site I was on yesterday, but there were so many ads on top, bottom, and sides of the page that the actual article I was trying to read was barely even viewable as a tiny square on the middle of the page. Every ad was animated or playing videos over each other, and it finally just crashed my browser and I left the page.
It felt like the final stage of ensh*tification where it’s simply all ads until it breaks entirely and collapses on its own. While the actual consumer the ads are intended to reach simply walks away without recalling anything they saw an ad for.
Hope the $.001 that site got from my visit was worth it!
