The pet peeves thread

Didn’t work.

Granted, I didn’t try it on the sister missionaries I otherwise have extreme difficulty telling them to get the eff off my porch. I may try this passive-aggressive tip next time.

What about women’s underwear?

Are you suggesting that wearing my wife’s underwear would help me get rid of visitors? I would not entertain any other interpretation of this question.

Lol- well played!

Since I opened this can o’worms, I’ll pull a Cliff Claven:

Linguists call this “non-rhoticity”. It is thought this Bostonian dropping of Rs may have come from SE England.

(To inoculate me self from any hint of superiority, I’ll use a Utahism)

FWIW I Love 13 Days and though Costner lays it on kinda thick, I thought he did alright. I also Thought Leonardo did OK too. Having moved away in my 20’s, I’m always a little surprised how much I lost mine compared to ‘my brotha’ and friends who stayed.

It’s very different from “down Maine” to basically NY metro area. It’s also an overly hyped sterotype “vibe” but secretly, everyone from NE loves to attention…

The Habit has become my go-to burger place over the past few years. Good burgers, excellent onion rings, yummy shakes, and always really great service.

Went to pick up dinner last night only to find The District location (which was about 5 minutes away) closed for good on June 25. So now I have to haul my butt up to Jordan Landing or wait an hour in the drive-thru line at In N Out. :rage:

First world problems, I know.

This phenomenon has intrigued me for years. I actually think your shoes are a factor. Too conductive and the charge build up from the wheels moving over the floor uses you to ground it back out.

Then, again, there’s a reason my undergrad is in Mechanical rather than Electrical Engineering.

Opt for the gas powered ones, as opposed to the electric ones.
