The pet peeves thread

They might have limited peripheral vision.

People that enter the front door of a single aisle airplane and inquire wich way they should go.

On Robocalls,

I’m tempted to make my voicemail message:

I’ve been waiting for you to call back! I found my credit card! Are you there? Hello? OK, here we go - the credit card number is 1234…” and then end the message there.

They way they load people onto planes. The first people getting on the plane should be the ones sitting in the back. But for some stupid reason, they do it the other way around, which of course causes all sorts of logjams.

The Mormon hymn “Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel”

My mom used to sing that song to motivate us to do chores, or whatever . Let’s just say it had an acute, negative effect, especially at 7a on a Saturday morning.

Might as well throw in a ball gag, high heels and a garter for good measure. Not sure I like where this is headed.

Having WiFi switches “brain hang” themselves making it impossible to turn on and off the lights. The solution? Flipping the power off and on for the entire house to reset them.

And for whatever reason, it seems to happen during the worst weather events possible. (The main power switch is outside)

Phishing emails…

  • Used to be most phishing emails were mangled, absurd, poorly worded… easily identifiable
  • Sophistication in content & delivery has increased orders of magnitude
  • User training helps a lot, but users regularly fall for phishing emails that have improved the obvious signs of being inauthentic.

Upside of phishing emails - employees ignore legitimate emails / meeting invites. “I thought it was a phishing email!” (Most organizations can safely have fewer meetings!)

damn, the reactions of people who are too lazy to put their carts in the cart corral. It ain’t that hard. I do like the idea of the magnet being put on the car.

I usually get my Costco shopping cart from the cart corral on my way into the store…so I have one.

Road Rage. Road rage leading to fights. Road rage leading to death. People tailgating, driving aggresively, but acting surprised when someone lets them know they are disturbing selfish people.

Built-in dashcam captures alleged road rage, helps police locate suspect?

Another day in Utah…
