The pet peeves thread

That it is illegal in the north of Ireland to be a member of a group that continues the struggle against imperialism

I follow elections compulsively, another form of sport. CNN provides the best live coverage of US elections, hands down. I can’t not watch.

So the truth pisses you off?

Yes, that is what I am saying. Truth has always peeved me.

People who have never read - nor will ever read - the Muller report or any of the plethora of federal and state indictments, but regurgitate and opine upon misinformation anyway.

yeah, but it’s all “fake” news, anyway. It’s as though any of those reports would change minds of those who have no interest in doing so.

A neighbor is a state judge and he complains about people not presenting facts. sigh…

They just present “alternate” facts.

I forced myself to read the 9/11 report.( Think of Ben Stein reading the phone book) and it drove me crazy that people spewed falsehoods without batting an eye. The worst part was when you tried to politely show them the truth, they would go off and scream bullsh!+ and thats partisan. It made no difference the report was totally bipartisan.

“Very unique” – it’s either unique or it is not. :stuck_out_tongue:

People who believe they deserve special treatment. I see this a lot at restaurants.

I’ve been on the receiving end of said person. They are truly irritating. The movie “Waiting”, while a bit over the top hit some of the stereotypes on both sides decently well.

But I do deserve special treatment.

You get more than your fair share here.

Drivers who don’t think cyclists belong on the road.

Definitely a mix of both.

So you’ve seen me riding my bike, huh? :frowning: Actually the only laws I violate on my bike are running stop signs and red lights, under light traffic conditions and then ONLY after slowing enough to be absolutely certain I am not risking myself or anyone else.

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa.

The one that drives me crazy is cyclists riding 2, 3, or even 4 abreast, in a narrow canyon, as they are passing the “Ride Single File” sign

There’s nothing special about the treatment I deserve. How could it be otherwise?

To summarize…sh!try, inconsiderate drivers and cyclists are the same. When you are inconsiderate, it doesn’t matter what your choice of transportation or hobby may be – you are a dbag.

People who “ghost”. You know what I mean. Very relevant in my age range.
