I just heard a short feature on NPR about the history of Halloween songs, and of course they played a bit of several of the most famous.

They included a bit of my personal all time favorite Halloween Song, and in case you missed it, I’m including a link to the original song by the original author (this is his least campy version). I’ve also included a link to the much less Halloween-ish version of the same song record later several years later by Creedence, which was one of my all-time favorite recordings back in the day.
