Impressive list. And some really interesting bands, especially those from the 60’s.

WOW!!! That is a very impressive list! You’re perhaps a year or two older than me, but you have impeccable taste. I’d kill to have seen many, many, many of those…

This in particular:

A bunch of “girl groups”; too many to remember. (Martha & the Vandellas, Chiffons, Shirelles, etc)

I never had a change at any of those. And to have seen both John Sebastien and the Lovin’ Spoonful, is a double whammy for me - he/they are toward the top of my list of artists I regret never seeing.

Out of curiosity, where did you see Roy Orbison? I have an acquaintance from Odessa, Texas, who is maybe more than a few years older than me, who claims that Roy Orbison and a small ensemble played at his cotillion (no one nearly as interesting was anywhere near mine ).

I don’t remember the name of the place, it was in L.A. I missed him at the Orange County fair and then a year or so later he came to L.A.

The Shadows of Knight were one of the opening acts for the Rolling Stones in ‘66 and Mobey Grape was one of the acts in those multiple-act concerts they used to have in the ‘60’s. Those were just the greatest, That concert was Buddy Guy, Mobey Grape, Vanilla Fudge, and the Chambers Brothers.

I got to cross one of the very few remaining bands off my personal concert bucket list. I finally got the chance to see Igorrr last night at The Complex.

They kinda defy description, but the closest I can get is that they’re an insane blend of baroque classical music, techno rave, death metal, and opera. Heard them once described as “Post-apocalyptic Cabaret”, which seems fitting.

It’s not very often you get to run point on a “wall of death” for one song…then end up waltzing with some random 6’4" dude in the mosh pit during the next.

Metal shows are glorious.

The young lady in these songs has become a friend - albeit at a great distance - since she and I met on social media shortly after her participation in 2013. I’m now tightly linked in with her, her husband Vova, and her Composer and lyricist for her song. He himself just returned to Eurovision this past may. I have a dream of making it to Moldova before I croak and the chance to meet them all would be a dream come true. Thanks to her I gained an actual desire to try and learn some Romanian (she is form Chisinau, Moldova); it made sense with me already knowing SPA/ITA/FRE and understanding a great deal of POR (European).

She is on the verge of releasing an actual ENGLISH song… I will share it when it is officially released. She has by far the best female voice Ive personally encountered form Moldova in the last 2 decades at least. I hope you can enjoy the numbers, even if you dont understand the language. Plenty of songs purportedly in English cant be understood either! LOL I’ll start this with her brilliant performance at Eurovision.

I know I keep promoting my dudes but this is a great article that I think the folks of your region can relate to: Voice Of The Prairie: At Home With Singer Colter Wall
