The “LOL” thread

If I lived in Seattle, I would definitely need an electric scooter or e-bike. Went to the Utah-UW game and got one of those rentals and definitely helped on the hills.

There are a few elevators to help you get up from the waterfront to the Pike Place Market area, if you’re in the vicinity. Also, there is a free shuttle bus called the Water Front Shuttle that takes you all the way over to Seattle Center from Chinatown and Pioneer Square, passing Pike Place Market. That might help!

Oh yeah, there’s also the First Hill Line, a streetcar that goes from Pioneer Square/Chinatown through Little Saigon all the way over to first Hill and Capital Hill.

Oh yeah, one more, there’s another streetcar that goes from near where the main Nordstrom store is down to Lake Union. That might be handy. Lake Union is a great place to walk.

I live in Seattle and use e-scooters a lot to get around - they’re great but some hills are still pretty much hopeless.

I also drive a stick shift, which I got so I could make my kids learn to drive one in the most difficult setting imaginable. Everybody should know how to drive a stick. Get off my lawn.

N-n-n-no!

Stick shifts and cursive will be our future leverage! Maybe long division, too. Finger math, for sure.

Just saw a listing for this online and I’m laughing as I’m just barely old enough to remember seeing a neighbor’s parents driving one of these when it was first released, and being jealous my parents didn’t have one

r/SportWagon - 1972 Ford Gran Torino Squire Wagon

My parents bought something similar to this. The whole fam would pile in and we’d drive up to the property in Idaho. Back then my dad smoked like a chimney. On this trip he flicked his cig out the driver’s window and the cherry came back in the passenger window and landed in my hair. I didn’t notice anything until my hair started sizzling. My sister freaked out and screamed that some farm boys threw a cherry bomb into the car. My dad swerved to the side of the road…it was pure chaos. Boy did my hair stink. Good times.
