We have a group of contractors pulling network cabling at the Casa de Work.
One of them, apparently in a speaker-mode cell phone conversation with his ex-wife, was trying to defend himself from assertions that he was being a bad parent, or something.
“He smuggled the 22 year old girl into the basement. How was I supposed to stop that!”

Whether you speak Spanish or not, and I do, this is pretty funny. It’s really just people trying to be polite, but Spanish speakers who have bothered to learn English (a very difficult tongue to master) really don’t appreciate it.

I was, and still am, SO confused by this headline, and I’m on a long call with family and trying to multitask, read the article, and still don’t understand the situation…

Well, the first Red Flag that this venture was sketchy started with the fact he named the company after a comedy sketch - and that was the tip of the iceberg. As the only major population center in the state is Anchorage, and it is basically a military base, almost everyone there gets their medical care from the base hospitals. If Medicaid is needed for civilian dependents, it is coordinated through the base medical system - no need for private third-party aid to coordinate it.
It makes me wonder how he was able to get over half a mil siphoned off before getting caught.
