Scrub Oak acorns…try to get those all cleaned up out of your yard!
I raked up and dumped about 10 lbs of those from ONE TREE, and the I can still feel acorns as I walk around the tree. They are nefarious. 
Ok, they hide my shed and my neighbors house (I have seven scrub oaks in the backyard); and the visiting birds and animals love them, but walking barefoot in the grass is a challenge. The only thing worse is stepping on a Lego.

I know at least one researcher who went to school at UC Santa Cruz. They loved the mascot.
