Rising’s coming back

Bryson will get glowing reviews from not just the coaching staff, but pretty much all of Ute nation. He’s doing us a major service in playing in the bowl game.

Different topic - Utah may have felt they were set at QB, but Noah Fifita is a legacy kid, uncle Steve was defensive MVP of the Fiesta Bowl.

If there was some NIL money that could help him be a Ute, that would be fantastic. (Perhaps as slim chance, but we’re in a NIL world, now.)

They also made it clear that he was going to be the starter this season.

Do you want to worry every time he takes a hit that he will reinjure? I certainly don’t.

However, bring in a healthy QB having proved himself in a strong P5 program this season, and maybe…

I wondered if he was related to Steve. I will never forget his TD run against TDS late in the 52-21 romp in 2004. How nice would it be to have Noah?

Not sure the $ will be there for another QB at Rising’s level, but yes it should always be a competition for the starting spots on the roster.

Ah…i hear you. NIL comes first now. I assumed it came later, after you arrived. But, that makes complete sense. Wow…a new world, eh?

You act like you just waive a wand and someone appears.

Every guy who is in the portal is there because they want to play every down.

They’re not going to come to Utah and hope Rising can’t play. Thats just illogical.

I understand. And, I am in agreement with you.
I think we should cut ties with a player who took a significant injury. We need to go shopping, IMHO.

I was trying to be nice when I mentioned competing for the spot.

I think Utah does need some insurance—a little more than a third-year freshman who hasn’t taken a snap and a true freshman coming off surgery. So, probably someone Barnes-like—maybe a serviceable QB who either started at the G5 level or was a decent backup at a P5 school.

Unfortunately NIL is not regulated, and the market has formed accordingly. Top level QBs look to secure the level they’re after before they’ll agree to transfer.

Yeah, showing Rising (or any player who gets hurt) the door is a sure fire way to get great athletes to come in.

Awesome recruiting strategy.

Just a business decision. People respect that.

Did you know that butterflies taste with their feet?

The butterflies are hibernating in Mexico right now. I don’t think they are tasting anything but their neighboring butterflies butt.

That is a bucket list item for me, to go to that forest in Mexico where the Monarch Butterflies hang out.

It’s like 50 miles west of Mexico City - I had some friends living there and they went last year. We visited them, but it was the wrong time of the year. I think there is also a Monarch Butterfly grove in Pismo Beach, CA that, at the right time of the migration, is also pretty cool. We were there this summer (but also not the right time of year).

All of us meaage board geniuses should be proud. We did it. We convinced Utahs staff that we’re thin at QB.

I thought that was because we’re in the PAC12. Oh, wait ……

I thought we were getting thin at safety

Wasn’t expecting that one.

I did find it odd to see him compared so favorably to Covey. Wasn’t even in the same ballpark, imo.

Nothing he did this year really sticks out. He was no Covey. I am sure this won’t end up being a huge loss.
