La-dee-da, la-dee-da, la la.
Well I didnât care for the movie my first memory of her was in Annie Hall many decades ago. Iâll 79 is a decent run for a lot of people they just seemed kind of young for her. Itâs also only 15 years away from me. Eek
OK.. HANDS UP ANYONE THIS MAKES FEEL POSITIVELY ANCIENT.
Always sad when someone passes away, but never a fan of him nor the band. Hope his last moments in life were with his loved ones
Same.
Kissâ enduring legacy will forever be as the poster child for schlocky spectacle over musical substance.
Yes. I still remember watching a kitchy special they did that was filmed at a theme park of some kind.
They definitely were all about the show. That said, these passings are a reminder of a time when we were young.
I got free tickets from my work to see them when they played at Rio Tinto back in '12/13 range. It was by far the worst concert Iâd ever attended. I asked for a refund from HR.
I remember being fascinated as a kid by Kissâ look. The face paint, the outfits, the fire at their showsâŚit all looked SO cool!
Then I heard their music andâŚ

I saw them at the Terrace Ballroom in 1975. Before they were famous. They werenât bad then. Then they started making moneyâŚ
Now weâre talking - the Terrace.
One of my cousins got grounded for 3 months for sneaking out to see Frank Zappa at the Terrace.
âIt was worth it! So awesome!â
Nice. Hereâs my Kiss story. My buddy and I paid for tickets to the Kiss/Anthrax concert in 1988. We stayed for Anthrax, who we actually came to see, and left before Kiss even got to the stage.
I know you guys were waiting for this one:

The older she gets, the less likely I am to blurt out âDamn, Woody!â

I do too. Anthrax was and is still more interesting than KISS. IMO KISS still stands for Keep It Simple Stupid. Now that I think about it, seems to fit.

[/quoteâ]I think he is sucking the life out of her to keep alive.
If thatâs the same show I saw of Zappa it was wild. They were collecting womenâs undergarments âto make a quiltâ and they evaluated each pair of panties thrown to the stage. They asked whoâs one pair belonged to that they judged the finest and this adorably hot, now presumed to be going commando, girl went up on the stage. I remember that more than the music.
I just got an alert on my phone by one of the new services, that June Lockhart, most famous for Lassie and lost in space, has just passed at age 100.
