It's ALWAYS a great day when the Zoobs lose

I think that’s about right. After the game in Provo we’ve really been dominant, but it’s really unclear what that means…beside a great response by the team.

TTech’s offense against us seemed to be their apex, QB2 Hammond was dropping dimes like Justin Herbert. Their offense since has been good, but not the elite air game we saw, in good coverage.

Our game vs ASU was a bit of an aberration, too. We dominated… then they beat TTech the next week.

These last 3 are crucial… hats off to the team for creating the context. This week is a pivotal test.

I think they were able to get both pressure and pleasure.

Tech is pretty elite. Some metrics have their defense at around 5 and offense around 10. For us (and I have to say BYU), defense is around 10, offense around 20 (for byu, closer to 25) with us a little higher, but we’re basically similar teams.

The loser in Tech-Utah, Utah-BYU, Tech-BYU all had some chance due to their D (close game to the 4th quarter, close game, holding TTU to fg) but were done in by mistakes or shortcomings (couldn’t adjust to backup and DD hampered, muffed punt/missed 4th down conversions with no pts, offense stopped without run game).

I like where we are with DD health improving and Byrd. BYU rb situation won’t improve during the season much, hope Cinci, heck TCU knocks them down. Tech qb not 100% but forced back into action. His ankle limits his mobility so offense will come back down. But Bailey, Rodriguez are monsters (both could be Big12 defense player of year).

Would look forward to a rematch greatly. Im still used to the MWC days of Nov slide due to lack of depth, but we have overcome that for a decade+. Go Utes! Win out and we shall see!

I would never ever want Utah to lose to hurt the Cougars.

Psychologically wreck their QB’s into hearing footsteps everywhere they go and giving them a wicked case of fumblitis…yeah, we do that.

Cougarboard is all over the map on this one…

Some are impersonating Saul Goodman in trying to explain how this could happen legitimately and within the honor code, others are reeling in the prospective apologists:

It’s hilarious how people with zero experience with anything beyond a popsicle start trying to offer theories, followed by their own recommendations on how the case should proceed.

And the hopeful “maybe people won’t notice” kind of post, followed by the cold reality:

Fortunately nobody got seriously hurt, and we get a few giggles this November’s morn.

Glad no one was injured in the crash.

You’ve never had a car impounded in Provo.

The last time I was down there to support a family musician playing at a bar… wow. It’s like a well oiled money making machine down there. I was impressed. It makes the speed trap at Mantua look like a kindergarten lemonade stand.

I kinda wish there’s more speed enforcement up here in Davis County (especially on Hwy 89), you know, the Happy Valley of the North. :joy:

If that’s “Happy Valley of the North”, does that make Logan “Happy Valley of the Arctic?” Maybe “Happy Valley: South Park?” :joy::joy::joy:

Oh…that’s so true. I stand corrected.

Of course, Logan is insignificant enough that it never even entered my mind. It is a MAGA valley. Haha

Most of the comments I am seeing on this story from Zoob fans are things like “It was only painkillers, no big deal.” Abusing painkillers ruined by father’s life and severely affected my family. It’s very serious.

I’m not going over THERE, but did none of them say anything about no one getting hurt and that was a good thing? Sucks to be Moo right now. Hope he gets things right and this is a one time thing, but damn CB is a weird place in 1st world humanity.

I’ll just note that I hope he learns from this mistake and doesn’t repeat it (drinking while impaired). Just a few weeks ago we heard a lot of sirens one night and found that close to our home, someone with a number of prior DUIs had ran several traffic lights, caused one crash, fled the scene, and about a block further hit and killed a motorcyclist. OK to have few drinks, but please be responsible.

Growing up in the 60’s and EMS in the 70’s I never understood any reason to drive under the influence of anything (including sleep deprivation or electronic distractions)
People regard phones and electronic distractions as somehow more benign. That’s like saying “sorry you had a devastating bone tumor, but at least it’s benign…”
If you honestly question your ability to drive, DON’T DRIVE.
If you are “sober” but using electronic devices while driving, you actually aren’t driving anymore! It’s binary: Stop doing one or the other.

I had enough close calls on a few 2 wheeled vehicles with folks in 4 wheeled vehicles screwing around with their electronics to be leery of all drivers.

A couple of days ago I saw an Facebook post by a BYU fan, asking which outcome would help BYU MORE: to get style points against TCU, or just to beat TCU? Made me smile.

Move over, Napa, there’s a new whine country epicenter in the US:

Greg and Hans are hammering ESPN’s and the committee’s bias against BYU

Basically, 80% of Cougarboard this morning starting before 1:00a is whining and (a new term I didn’t know about) pre-whining.

They’re in rare form.

Wrubell griping like the birthday party dad of a 9 year old girl who forgot his wallet at the theatre, is backed into a corner and doesn’t know what to do, ends the rant with a swipe at Harlan, “at least we have the voice of reason Mark Harlan to help out…”.

LMAO. I haven’t seen him this whiney since PAC-mas when they had to take down the bitter grapes “And so it happened…” article on KSL.com

At least for this morning, I have to grant the time honored Hod Sanders Cheap, Whiney Bastard Award to Greg Wrubell.

Like Michael Jordan, Wrubell should win it every year but every once in a while the voters get tired of the voting for the same guy and vote Malone. Nice to see that Wrubell is back on top!

Scanning through that thread, its hard to believe that some of these people are real, and yet, we have all met people like that and know that unfortunately they indeed are!
