Well, at least the Yankees didn’t win the World Series.
Nice to see Kershaw get that monkey off his back.
I’m glad Dave Roberts chose baseball instead of playing QB at Air Force, because he would have been a handful.
Amazing convoy of relief pitching.
And now the most bizarre fact of this game - Turner was pulled because his daily Covid test came back positive, during the game, which is why Rios came in.
2020
Glad they won.
Freeway Series next year when the “Rally Monkey” gets the Angels back to winning.
Yes, getting to see this happen is on my bucket list. It’s been on my bucket list for since I was 10.
I’d love that. Dodgers vs. The Anaheim Franchise. (I tease my Angels fan buddies that way.)
Booooo!!!
Haters gonna hate but my happiness is secure!
I’ve heard that they try to base those decisions in statistics, a la Moneyball. Last night Snell was smothering the Dodgers and seemed justifiably upset when he was pulled. But there was something about his pitch count that was the basis for the decision.
Was hoping to see a game 7, but a great series. But now what sports will there be on weekdays? We’ve had the NHL, NBA, and MLB playoffs over the last few months. Now it’s waiting until weekend for football.
Wouldn’t last night be an argument FOR moneyball because the Dodgers won, and they did it with their bullpen?
Also, aren’t the Dodgers and Rays the two biggest believers in moneyball?
I mean, it is called moneyball amiright…hello, hello, is this thing on?
My only complaint is Betts would have been my MVP.
I’m agnostic about moneyball and don’t really care if teams use it or not. I do sympathize with a pitcher who’s striking out batter after batter and gets pulled in the 6th inning because that’s what the numbers say should happen. But he’s getting paid lots of money and if the team management thinks stats should rule, that’s OK with me. Besides, as a Dodgers fan I was happy to see Snell leave the field.
Sadly, because baseball has no salary cap, you either pony up the $ or you’re doomed to lose to those who do. This began with the Yankees, spread to the Red Sox, and now is accepted as the price of winning. It takes a lot of the magic out of MLB, but this time it worked for my team so I am enjoying it.
Sad, true and funny all at once, @Ma-ake.
Did anyone else notice that Betts & his wife looked maybe a bit… worried in the post game?
I thought that was a bit off… until I heard the news about Turner’s positive.
I’m glad they won, for all the good reasons. But the Turner positive curve ball (cough) was weird.
2020…
