Everyone actually said Cooper was the best player of the three but he got spinal stenosis before college. I’m sure it was devastating to see the success his brothers had knowing he could have been there if not even more successful.
More buffalo chips hitting the fan.
Sounds like Deion did not even speak to some of the players prior to “suggesting” they hit the portal after the spring game. It’s apparent there was never any chance for these kids, why even put them through the pretense of the spring game…other than to fill the stands with desperate Buff fans willing to put their faith in Primetime.
So between who is left, and the handful of kids coming in for the fall, it appears Prime Time is getting fired in no time.
And we thought Willie Taggart had issues.
I hate the way Willie went out. He was great at WKU. Probably would have been better off sticking to WKU. Some coaches are made for mid-majors.
Cole Becker saw it right off the bat.
It’s hard to say how much talent remains on a team that struggled like they did, but Deion is getting close to making CU like a Year 1 program at a school that decided to field a football team.
If you happen to be one of those 16 players, are you losing sleep at what happened to your brothers?
Easy to see how the Buffs fanbase was excited about the hire, but I don’t know anyone who can build a P5 program from scratch in less than 3 or 4 years, and the 2023 spring game may be viewed as the apex of this era of football in Boulder.
Here’s my question about Deion: is he a good gameday coach? Obviously, the guy is a master marketer and promoter. We all know how much he loves himself. He sure can generate excitement around a program and even bring in some good talent (he got a 5* kid to play for him at Jackson St. and has brought him to Boulder). But how well can Deion coach? How well does he make adjustments? How well does he game plan? Is he good about knowing when to go for it on fourth down and when to punt or kick a field goal? Does he know when and when not to go for 2 or kick on onside kick or run a trick play? Does he meticulously watch film and learn his opponents’ tendencies?
My gut tells me that he’s so full of himself that he doesn’t worry about a lot of these things and is more concerned about creating an image. It’s more like a show. But I don’t know. I could be way off. The guy could be the next Vince Lombardi. But my bet is that he’s going to be a disaster at CU.
I heard Bill Riley say on the radio today that at PAC-12 media days, he is going to call CU’s head coach “Deion Sanders,” or “Coach Sanders,” not Coach Prime.
I hope they get Deion’s reaction on film. It could be comedy gold. ![]()
