Better still!

That looks like something used to test if vinyl would play on the space shuttle.

I have seen this collection. They’re real and they’re spectacular.

Mbanasor hasn’t signed yet, but he has retweeted his commitment. He still seems solid. Just a guess, but they may be waiting for some paperwork to clear before he can sign.

Does that mean Lowe has signed?

All of talk about flagging is starting to make it sound like some kind of HC violation. And flagging posts, I don’t even want to go there.

From The Athletic’s ranking of PAC-12 recruiting today:

Utah, 3rd in the Pac-12, 34th nationally

Brandon Huffman, the national recruiting editor at 247Sports, identified Utah with the most under-the-radar class in the Pac-12.

He described four-star Lander Barton —a 6-4, 215-pound linebacker who has two brothers who have played in the NFL — as the ā€œalphaā€ of the Utes’ class. Signing Barton a year after landing four-star linebacker Ethan Calvert out of Southern California should provide a solid foundation for the future of Utah’s defense.

Two years ago, the Utes went to California and landed four-star corner Clark Phillips III, who was a top-100 player nationally and was originally committed to Ohio State. Last cycle, they signed Calvert. This time, Utah went to California and came away with four-star quarterback Nate Johnson. Johnson was the No. 232 player nationally, has great arm strength and can run a bit too. Johnson earned an Elite 11 invite earlier this year. The Utes also signed three-star quarterback Brandon Rose from California (Murrieta Valley) as well.

If the Utes hold their spot at third, it would be their best finish since joining the league. They finished fifth in 2018 and 2020. Their best finish overall was No. 30 in 2020. A Rose Bowl appearance should help with future recruiting efforts as well.

Utah is not messing around with long snappers. The Utes have picked up a transfer long snapper. In the rankings above Jack Stein is ranked #43.

Yet in the Kohl listing, see number #6 James Greep, now a Freshman.

Story in the DN on Greep this season.

Also Stanford’s long snapper Kyle Petrucci has committed to Utah as reported a few days ago in the DN.

Justius Lowe decommits. He’s one of the 2 commits who did not sign in the early signing period. His timeline suggests he is getting a lot of love from Notre Dame.

PWO status.

He’ll have to be Covey-esque to get any playing time, I think. He’s actually smaller than Covey at 5’10", 155 lbs.

Some additional info.

I think those were his high school data. He’s now listed at 5’11" and 185 (or 195) lbs – still on the smaller side.

Here’s more info on Bottari.

utilizing so many two and three TE sets, I think WR’s are starting to shy away from us because we don’t throw to them enough

I think once Utah offered, Oregon and ND and others offered. His options increased dramatically. You may be correct, but if Utah had super WRs like tOSU had, Ludwig would find a way for them to get the ball, and like a lot. Cam Rising is versatile enough to find a WR and a TE.

Utah doesn’t rebuild on defense…it reloads.

Ute signees Kaeo Akana and Tao Johnson bumped up to 4 stars on 247. Class ranking is up to 35 when ranked by total points. Since the Utah class is smaller than most, we probably move up to around 30th if ranked by average stars.

lets just hope they stay all three years

If they leave, it’s because they are not getting playing time because someone in front of them is out performing them. Sometimes it’s a good problem to have.
Remember when a starting DL transferred to USC because he saw that his playing time was limited?
