Rose’s first series was in the 3rd quarter (although he play a couple snaps in the first half when Wilson was shaken up). This was not after the Utah interception and short field.
The last Rose pass/Int. was a great diving play by the Houston linebacker. I guess you could claim Rose stared down the reciever a little bit. The frustrating thing is it was a 3rd and 3 and Rose appeared that he could have scrambled for a first?
Houston basically ran the ball at will on us the last two drives that netted them 10 points. Barton, in particular, whiffed on two makeable tackles that would have won the game.
Talk about the teams lack of offense in this game, but if the defense makes just two plays, the game is won.
Both Scott Mitchell on the radio and the ESPN color guy made a point of noting that Ryan didn’t help Rose out by coming back to the ball on that interception. Had he done so the DB wouldn’t have had an angle to get to the ball and it may very well have been a PI penalty. Make no mistake, the ball was was short and low, but there’s both sides of the coin to consider.
Well, that was a pfft type of game. I missed why Rose was put into the game. He didn’t seem any better than Wilson.
My gut reaction to the game was that, “well, we found another way to lose.” Too bad we have no real clue how good the men’s bball team will be to fall back on.
I really have to wonder if the team can win 2 out of the next 4. I have my doubts.
I also wonder, what will the program look like next season. There may be even more churn than the men’s bball team.
As for them, gotta hand it to Sitake. He’s found a way to have a magical season. Wonder if it’s a 1 off season, or if he’s built something. I can’t say, I have only see that they’re winning games, and seemingly looking good doing it.
It did look like the defense was trying to over compensate for the offense, and had many unforced errors.
