In NASCAR most fans are thrilled if their team wins once or twice in a 30+ race season. So there is some perspective
So, we’ve already established the I no longer know what country I live in.
Now I find that I have no idea what football team I’m cheering for.
Since I have no control over the first, I’ve already stopped reading the news.
Perhaps it’s time to simply stop looking out the windows.
… draws the curtains and slips, frustrated, into bed…
I hear New Zealand and Mars are nice this time of year.
So all the way back to the pre-McBride era? Haha
I have no words. The last couple of weeks we thought we may have seen the end of a great era in Utah Football.
Tonight removed all doubt. Sigh.
Utah is 6-8 in its last 14
It seems like something broke with that Oregon loss last year at home
We haven’t defeated a +.500 team in over a year
Hard to believe but the better team won. Or at least the team that played better.
If they score twice instead of being stopped at the 1 on downs it would have been a blow out.
And both teams off next week—so
BYU favored by 10 over Utes?? They are at least 2 touchdowns better, but Utes get 3 points for being at home.
Wow!
At this point if I could stomach betting for them I would give the points & take the visiting team.
Ouch!
I think the team confidence went out the door when Cam went down. It’s like if Led Zeppelin had to replace Robert Plant with Robert Goulet or Jimmy Page with Tiny Tim. The band just ain’t the same.
It takes years to build a program and weeks to destroy it.
This is somehow strangely meaningful. I still don’t understand the HOW, but have some sense of the WHAT.
We need to beat BYU now for no other reason than to avoid a year of their fans going full douche.
Welcome to 1988.
While I agree in spirit I have a bad feeling about how it’s going to turn out. I’m preparing for a full year or more of douchie gloating to be coming our way.
For whatever it’s worth, and it may not be worth much because it came from Facebook, somebody quoted Micah Bernard saying there were problems inside the program, but he couldn’t talk about them. Not surprising if it’s true.
One lesson I personally have re-learned during this season is that assuming polls and pundits are right, and counting on young men to be healthy or to play at a championship level can be a fool’s errand. The great majority of us took it for granted that Utah was going to be great this year and end up in the CFP. Meanwhile, the assumption among Utah fans was that BYU was going to be terrible and go nowhere. Well, look at the cruel joke fate is playing on us all.
They were douchie even when we beat them.
“If we were playing the game in November like we’re supposed to…”
“If the game were 4 minutes longer…”
“There is no way, if we played again, that we would lose” (after getting beat 54-10)
etc
etc
etc
This year will just let them put the special sauce on our overdone steak and the worst part is there isn’t much of a comeback if you go 4-7.
Thx. Much more credible than what I had.
I watched my Dodgers rather than the football game. I’m glad I did, though I’m hoping Ohtani’s injury is nothing important.
I have never been a Whittingham fan, our teams always lose when it matters the most (like the Rose Bowl) since leaving the MWC. And now the team seems to have just given up.
I really think it’s time for a new coach. But what do I know, I prefer baseball and hockey to football.
This makes me believe that the players believe that there are players who are not starting or getting significant time who the other players believe should be playing. I don’t know what else it could be.
Was Rose first series the one with the short field after the Hall Int.? If so, that is a weird time to make a switch.
I cannot find a replay of the Rose Int. Was it thrown into coverage, just a bad throw?
