Beat the Cougars! (The ones in Houston)

Well, let’s see the boys get a win. They are due, especially if they want to go to a bowl. This Saturday, 5:00 p.m. Mountain time

Here is information on Houston’s season so far.

I remember back in the 70s, Houston visited Rice Stadium, and had a caged live Cougar as their mascot with them on the sidelines. (Likely today that would of course be frowned upon by many)

As I don’t have ESPN+, I will track this one on Gamecast and listen to the radio.

Line play will be the biggest key here. The O line, specifically the center, needs to do a better job of reading the rush and getting things picked up so Wilson can stay vertical.

The D line needs to get better penetration and gap control. We also need the edge rush on the non-Filinger side to make the Houston O line play honest and not just plan to double Filinger on every play. More disruption - less predictability.

On an added note, tackling has to improve. We’ve have more missed tackles in the last three games than we’ve had in the last 3 years. It’s letting some of these RB’s make cases for Heisman status ala Frank the Tank.

Hopefully we get back on the winning side of the ledger this week and make a push to at least be a spoiler, otherwise ■■■■■ it, let’s get ready to beat BYU.” The old refrain from my undergraduate past.

Same.

A little worried about how fans will react when it turns out getting rid of Ludwig doesn’t immediate solve every offensive woe.

Don’t beat ourselves!!! LOL

go to youtube and search for the game and there usually is a feed. I did that on the last 2 ESPN games (which, ironically, I can watch ESPN+).

I remember that game, and the previous year when Utah traveled to the Astrodome. My dad worked for the airlines, so we went to see the Utes face the Southwest Conference UH Cougars.

Del Rodgers was a FR, Randy Gomez was our QB, we got beat, but got a lot of respect from Houston legend Bill Yeoman (who invented the Veer option).

“The freshman can run (Rodgers) and their QB is really good, too. If he was 6-2 he’d be an All-American. Of course, if he was 6-2 he’d be at USC”

i am sure that booting Ludwig will make Issac stop throwing behind his receivers. The o line will stop letting rushers run untouched right up the middle and the backup RB;s will gain more than one yard.

Also Ludwig leaving will certainly stop the missed tackles into the secondary . At the very least the 4th and whatever are set.

Should be great

Utes by 5 at Houston—which per the Trib rankings of Big 12 is #16 a/k/a last.

You’re not recognizing the mystic power of the sacrificial lamb (aka the scapegoat). The football gods, now appeased by the offering of Ludwig, will send the Utes to a bowl game.

Why couldn’t we have sacrificed a 3 piece and a biscuit to the football gods?

If this were MLB, we would send someone out to do the Slump Buster.

It’s an interesting day for me, as a six month or more member of Coogfans board. Ive done my best over that time to counter all the hateful behavior of some of our worst fanbase section.

I have a great relationship with those posters, and they even tried to help me work out logistics to get me to that game… but it cost a minimum of 1000 bucks for flight and cheapest accomodation possible, and not including food, ticket, ground transport etc. On nothing but disability income I couldnt justify that for 2 nights.

They are generally sympathetic/commiserating with me about snakebite years.

Not quite a 3 and out, but a 4 and out

Woot, woot 7-0

That elation was short lived

On a different note seeing both Rose and Glover in the game was unexpected

so many damn mistakes

Why was Rose in (only following via score tracker)? Wilson hurt?

Wilson hurt his left wrist, but he’s back in
