Baylor Game Thread

If so, they need to get out more.

Interesting. I’m active on both sites, and I don’t get that impression at all.
I like both

I used to be there, but got tired of the far-right, zoob-ish behaviors. Reminded me of that POS Utah fan-dentist.

Utah needs ZERO style points this year. They play in a league who is going to have SEVEN ranked teams next week. Simply winning is good enough. Especially down several starters. I think the Weber State game is when Rising and others come back. We need him for conference play and he can’t be making his first start this year against a 3-0 UCLA. Btw, Utah is one of two teams nationally who now have TWO non-conference P5 wins. The other is Colorado.

I think that’s doubtful considering thats the most meaningless game on the schedule. From Whitt’s perspective I think it would make a lot of sense to rest Rising and the others through OOC play.

From a Baylor message board. Lol!

I think he’s acknowledging that Baylor didn’t play a full-power Utah team.

Yes, I just thought the way he worded it was funny.

It was. Nicely dry!

Seemed like the stadium was about half full. I didnt pay attention to the crowd at the end of the game because I was stroking out.

I would agree since the sun isn’t beating down, but doesn’t get much cooler. I guess 90s is better than 100. 11CT game could be ok, but not during heat waves. One good thing is conference play will start later in Sep so hopefully there is only 1 ‘hot’ game at most each year.

Oops sorry meant to post this in the other college football thread

I never go there, having forgotten my password, and not getting any cooperation in recovering it. (Yes, I feel discriminated against.) Anyway, I can’t say anything about utehub, but on the Facebook Ute Nation group, it sure does seem like the conversation can quickly deteriorate .

From yesterday’s evening edition, Washington Post:

Utah (winner)

The final 12 minutes of the Utes’ 20-13 victory at Baylor — except for allowing a long pass to the Bears in the closing seconds to set up a decent shot at a tying score — was a virtuoso clinic in what Kyle Whittingham has built in Salt Lake City over nearly two decades.

Down a touchdown, Utah forced a three-and-out. It stitched together a 15-play, 88-yard touchdown drive that covered more than eight minutes. It intercepted the Bears with 1:31 to go, then scored again on Jaylon Glover’s 11-yard touchdown jaunt with 17 seconds remaining. It also got a stop when it needed it with a pass breakup in the end zone on the last play, though Baylor partisans thought interference went uncalled. They may have had a point. (It was close).

And, of course, the Utes did this without starting quarterback Cameron Rising, who missed his second game in a row.

Utah has put up shinier numbers in recent years, but at its core, it is a program more than content to outwork and outlast an opponent. The Utes (2-0) did it to a future conference foe on the road Saturday, a reminder of how they are one of the toughest teams in any league to completely finish off.

I like both this site and utehub. Utehub has better football info. There is nobody here comparable to OnlyU. There a a couple of others like that.

Highlights. Notice that Lander Barton had as much to do with the key interception as Cole Bishop did.

Yep.

Baylor should have gone conservative, punted and got to OT. Especially at home.

If Whitt had a photographic memory he’d be fun to go with to casinos and watch him play Blackjack…well, at least until he got kicked out and put on the banned list.

Yeah, I’d definitely like to got to Vegas and play blackjack with Whitt. We’re counting cards, we’re definitely counting cards.

I think you get them a bit of work. Their first true live action to knock some rust off.

Great that the visiting Utah fans could be heard so clearly on the broadcast.
