America's Pastime

I think I would be the Shohei Ohtani of downvotes if it did.

I was at the game last night, a TON of people watching game 7 on their phones.

Sensory overload, between watching the Utes dismantle a league unbeaten, and another high level baseball game with all the marbles on the line.

Hats off to two teams that gave us one helluva World Series.

That aged poorly. Wow.

I can’t decide what’s more like a poke in the eye or a shiv in the gut, watching the Dodgers celebrate or seeing a picture of Trump pumping his fist.

I get it, most folks on UF.N don’t like Trump. I’m not a fan of him, anymore than I was a fan of Biden, but can you manage to keep your dislike to the politics area of the site? I do my best to keep my political views out of what is supposed to be a fan site for our Utes, pop culture, food, and pretty much anything but politics.

My biggest takeaway from this detour comes from the movie “The Bucket List” as Nicholson’s character liked to brag about drinking the most expensive coffee in the world - Copi Luac, only to find out later in the movie the “secret in the coffee.”

Some people blindly surround themselves with all sorts of special things and trappings to show and brag of their importance. Others know the truth in the trappings, and forego them for what is really important; and sometimes they get to enlighten the one who “brags” in a way that helps them see their folly.

It was great to see LA win the series, and it was a great series overall. Yes, the political talking heads will inevitably want to get their face time with the winners. Let’s all not forget those politicians will be doing it while blindly drinking their own version of Copi Luac.

Game 7 was the best baseball game I’ve ever watched. It was epic.
