America's Pastime

The the kid with the sign “I Skipped Math to Watch History” sign was fun.

Then it made me think, “Do they actually teach math in Florida?”:thinking::thinking:

Impressive stats for an entire week and he did it in one game.

And how much are the Dodgers paying for each home run and stolen base?

It would’ve been funnier except for the preseason gambling scandal.

What I love about Ohtani the most is that he seems to be an exceptional human being. He’s very easy to cheer for. All you Dodgers haters can pound sand.

I’m glad to see his talent not being wasted on a “never going to the playoffs” team anymore. I would love to see Mike Trout get out too.

Then again I would cheer for Arte Moreno to sell the Angels to someone who would look to develop a competitive team.

Not a Dodger fan, but you don’t have the Greatest Freeway Series Ever without them.

Hey, I can hope.

People can root for whoever they want. If you want to root for the “Yankees of the senior circuit”, go right ahead.

I root for LA teams because I am from LA. My Alabama born Dad just said “over my dead body will you ever cheer for SC or UCLA.”

Baseball is the only sport where I root for two teams, and I only do it because attending a freeway series is on my bucket list. I want to spend an October in SoCal driving to games in Anaheim and Chavez Ravine, and spending my downtime at the beach.

A guy can dream.

Sorta the same. I will feel more for Anaheim Angels when they change their name back and Arte sells the team.

As a diehard Padres fan, it’s fun to giggle at how inept the Dodgers are postseason.
With the exception of the pandemic-shortened season, they annually melt down faster than the wicked witch when it matters most.
I’m calling it right here:
My Padres have dominated the Doyers all year and although they may come just short of winning the division, they will finish higher postseason than the team up Interstate 5 with the BILLION dollar payroll.
This year’s brown & gold have more pitching, more grit and far more heart than LA has.
This just may be the year that America’s Finest City wins it all. Everything is in place. The boys are peaking and healthy.
I attended a series game the year I moved here in 84 and attended again in 98 (I still have the hat). I’ll mortgage the farm if I must to attend again this year.

GO PADRES !!!

That’s fair, but let’s see who gets the last laugh this year. It could be me. :sunglasses:

You must be one of my cousins. They say this every year from their Chula Vista recliner.

EDIT: For the record I love my SD loving sports fans. They are some of the most loyal and it’s BS that the Chargers left town.

They’ll laugh at you even harder than I will.

The Spanos family is dead to me. They are the embodiment of what is wrong with sports in general.
