The altar boy scores the TD. Wheaties cover!
Balls of f*cking steel to go for it on that 4th & goal with Mendoza proving why he won the Heisman.
Wow.
I was happy for the altar boy. He plays hard, his teammates seem to love him. He seems to be a good kid from what I’ve read. Throw him on a Wheaties box, seems like a good plan.
They said after the game that Indiana is the first new team to win a title in 30 years.
Yep, that tracks.
Thank God
See. NIL and Transfer portal just needed Indiana to get y’all on board.
I think Cignetti set up a good template. It’ll be interesting to see how it gets applied across D1 ball.
Sure. But, it also exposed how recruiting young players and developing them in the current system is for the birds. Get a large bag of cash and get the best players that are Juniors or Seniors (or Grad Students) that have been developed elsewhere. It’s really going to become large $ ball now more than ever.
In retrospect I should have stated that Cignetti set up an interesting template. As, I think it was @LAUte said he’s created a “moneyball” situation there in Bloomington. I suspect some programs will go all in on Cignetti’s template, others will do more develop players and supplement via portal, and maybe a few old school will go all in on development.
All in all, it will be interesting to watch, at least from afar as the NIL era is not entirely fun to watch.
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed last nights game. Both proved to be very excellent teams.
It was a good game. I think you will see the development get more popular if those programs end up putting dudes in higher picks in the draft. Many players (hypothesis) may end up making more in college than the league.
Yeah, the punch apparently happened after that.
Apparently the IU player said something waaaaaaay out of pocket. The Miami kid is typically thought highly of by others. That said, this looks like just typical bad sportsmanship by IU kid.
Even if he did say something, you don’t take a swing at someone after losing a game.
Ever.
I guess I’m a thug. I also think Blount was justified:
Who hasn’t wanted to take a Whack at a Boise man?
And here is the clarifying comment on what was said:
“Dude was talking about Mark’s dad, who passed away last year,” Rumph wrote. “Mark is and always will be one of the most classy people you will meet. RIP Mr. Fletcher.”
Yeah. I would have swung on him.
In the sentencing phase you probably could have relied on the other guy’s horrible taunts to get off with just a fine. The “victim’s” medical expenses would be separate.
That said, the IU kid ought to be publicly shamed. Probably doxxed too.
I was raised playing football with Tongans. They taught me not to disrespect the dead’s name like that. Plus, I watched one knock a guy into next week for calling him Samoan so maybe I was raised with the wrong type of people. ![]()
