The best clam chowder in a restaurant is in Monterey, California served in a sourdough bread bowl.

My wife actually makes a really good chowder. Probably the best I’ve had.

Costco sells pretty good chowders.

Costco does some really good stuff. You can’t beat those $5 whole roast chickens. We get one practically every time we go. I also like those roll-ups that they make.

Suck is in the taste buds of the beholder. Personally, I think Market Street sucks, but that’s probably just me. The first time I went there was because my neighbors said they had the “best clam chowder ever”. It was by far the worst clam chowder I’ve ever had. Like I said, suck is in the taste buds of the beholder.

+1. I’ve always been wildly unimpressed with Market Street.

Plus, chowder of any type is just…blech.

Market Street used to be really good, but as the owners split and they expanded locations it definitely became less amazing.

If I was on death row (for killing a sworn Ute enemy like Royce Olney), my last meal would be from Market Street. Sourdough bread, clam chowder(which is the best I’ve ever had), and halibut oscar style with extra bearnaise sauce, and some chilled key lime pie for dessert.

I use pork (bacon) in mine with the clams. I also caramelize my onions with the bacon before adding them to the chowder. Instead of milk, I use sour cream.

Pork/bacon makes sense, of course. Makes it that much more tasty.

You can’t win (enough) at Kentucky. They remind of Notre Dame fans in the 70’s. There was an article in 1978 talking about how the fans were up in arms because they hadn’t won a title since 1977.
