We had roster depth.
We lost two starters for the season, which forced the depth to become starters.
Apparently Palmer had concussion like symptoms that still are plaguing her now.

Not bad. Not what was expected either. On the plus side it turns out Vieira runs circles around Palmer at the 1 and weāll see her again next year. Hopefully Palmer can return and provide some PG depth. No way to replace a legend in Pili, but, as they say in Moneyball, maybe we can recreate her in the aggregate. We should be competitive next year in the B12.
Iām still a bit irked about the lack of 4/5 positions on the bench, but oh well.
I have never rooted harder for a non-Ute team as hard as I am rooting for UCLA today.
Dang itā¦thought the Bruins were in a good shape going into the final 2 minutes.
And the technicolor ghoul was in typical form. BTW, that was a flop by Van Lith on that critical possession that turned the game. She was barely touched, but the UCLA driver had the arm bar and so it looked like it.
I had hopes that Brown for Colorado could light up Iowa they way she did to the Utes, but, not so much. That leaves just USC and Oregon State still in the tourney, yes?
I couldnāt believe that Stanford fell that easily to NCState and was very happy to see Gonzaga get absolutely mauled by Texas.
Though CU would be more competitive.
Is there an easier team to dislike then LSU and Mulkey?
That Caitlin Clark is incredible. The passing and assists. Terrific.
Hutchinson Kansas just won the NJCAA Womenās Championship in OT. They also had an undefeated record for the season.
Article on Holly Rowe
SC looks to be cooked. No more P12.
The accolades for Holly Rowe make me slightly angry.
Donāt get me wrong - Holly is great, sheās really knowledgeable, proud sheās from Utah. Sheās everything the article says.
I just feel like Wild Bill Marcroft never got a chance, he could have lifted the entire womens tournament to levels unimaginable. The hypnotic chuckle would have rendered them putty in his hands⦠if he only had the chance.
Fun story here:
You may want to check that
Heās at the 40, the 30, the 20, the 10ā¦and tackled at the 25ā¦
Of course, the signature ācheck itā!
"The incomparable Caitlin Clark shoots from half court!!! Check it⦠it was a pass to the wing. Irv Brownās niece is a referee in this tournament with a derriere suited for football, obstructing my view."
BIll with the aviator glasses, the 70s perm, the infectious power-chuckle⦠asking every interviewee what they thought of the slam dunk.
(Seriously, Holly Rowe is impressive. Memories of Bill⦠they vary in entertainment value, weāll say)
I remember Pete Williams first game as a freshman. He got in the game in the last minute or so, and made one foul shot. After the game Bill interviewed him and asked him how he felt about getting a new career high in scoring.
Nope, no one.
Both games last night were great to watch. If you arenāt watching the WBB tournament, you are missing out on some great drama.
