Keba Keita (see above) was seen in the Hunty last night watching the USC game.
Big if
Yep. Thatâs surely why Newman added the phrase to his column. In the world of the transfer portal and NIL, no player is truly committed for more than one season. Maybe not even that longâŚ
Bad attitude. Theyâre staying.
Even in this age with the greater fluidity (which I think is best for everyone, personally), players who are playing, and excelling in a program that has a bright future, donât tend to transfer. They may transfer upstream from, say, an MWC school to a Pac 12 school. But thatâs not likely to happen from Utah. That Krystkowiakâs most promising players kept transferring was possibly the main reason he became intolerable.
Logic says your right, but then I see the No. 2 WR at Georgia transferring to Alabama, the No1 RB from Oregon transferring to USC, the likely starting QB going from Oklahoma to South Carolina and I donât know what to think.
Good point. Football has been a free for all to this point. Who is to say the same wonât happen in MBB?

Tweets say New Zealander Ben Gold (see above) has firmed up 3 visits: Washington State, Xavier, and Marquette. No mention of the Utes.
A few months ago CA post 5star Yohan Traore listed the Utes in his top 10. He just committed to LSU.
Those who think the transfer portal and NIL are not going to create a huge mess and make it harder (maybe much harder) for non-elite programs with fewer wealthy boosters to get the 4* and 5* playersâŚare fooling themselves.
The NBA needs to remove the age cap on their draft and expand the G League. Let the kids who want to play in college, play in college. I get NIL and the Portal are totally wrenching things up, but âOne and Doneâ ainât helping either. I donât know where one finds stability in the chaos.
I think MLB has done a good job with collegiate baseball players. IIRC, once players opt to take a college scholarship they have to stay forâwhat is it?âthree season? Otherwise they go straight to MLB. The obstacle to that change in basketball, I understand, is the NBA Players Association. Theyâre the ones who keep one-and-done going.
Iâve been arguing for this idea for a bit. I think MLB has it right in regard to growing talent. The Collegiate World Series doesnât seem to be hurt, and plenty of college players still make it into the Majors after college. But who am I to say what will or wonât work with the NBA?

Utes have OFFERED 2022 Guillermo Diaz, 7â F from Canary Islands, currently playing prep ball at the IMG Academy in FL.
I hope we get some players. Itâs really disappointing watching Allen go off for 24 last night, and Plummer getting significant time.

Utes have been calling 2022 SF Ezra Ausar out of Charlotte, NC. Was a 2021 FL kid, but transferred to NC prep school.
