Yesterday’s Storm from Hell

Whatever that “Wall of Filth” in the falling snow was all about has rendered every car wash along the Wasatch Front more overloaded than a COVID vaccination wait list.

As the Great Salt Lake shrinks, we will see more and more dust in the snow.

If you take a look at the late spring snow at the Wasatch front ski resorts you can really see it, a thin film of brown sediment that’s deposited on the top layer of snow as it melts. The discoloration has become more and more noticeable every year and is speeding up the melting process as the darker color absorbs more sun.

I guess we didn’t get the filth in West Jordan.

On second thought…went out and looked at the RV. Yeah, the windshield was pretty dirty. There was some on the patio as well.

I saw a photo of a ski area in the Pyrenees with the snow covered in so much dust it looked like dirt. I guess it was from a sandstorm in the Sahara.
