Man, i feel for Iran. Not only were they treated horribly by both the US and FIFA, then they had the see-saw tonight, and they were this close to getting the win in stoppage time last night (a VAR overturned goal).
That’s just a brutal way to exit.

I was watching this match late in the 2nd half, Mrs Ma’ake saunters in and say “Canada won”.
Me: “No, it’s zero-zero”.
She shows me her phone on the ESPN page.

I’ve noticed my YouTube TV feed is delayed as well. Not by much, but I keep seeing people post about goals quite a bit before they happen on my broadcast. It’s annoying.

I have no skin in any of these matches. So I’m gonna be fickle in who I’m pulling for until the game begins. Nothing silly like whose uniforms I like better, but more like who I consider the underdog.
Should be fun.

I’ll be cheering for the Netherlands to win over virtually anyone simply as they have had so much success over the decades I’ve watched soccer, and yet never won it all (3 runner up finishes).
Also, I have a bit of Dutch ancestry, and have never had anything but wonderful times on my many business and few personal visits to their beautiful country. The Dutch people are as pleasant as any people anywhere.

Netherlands often called the best country to have never won the cup. 2 of their losses in the final match were to the host nation too. Would like to see them win one as much as any other non-US team.

I’m pulling for Japan because they are underdogs and I like their fans. It was awesome their fans stuck around and cleaned up after their matches.
I’m pulling for Paraguay simply because they are the underdogs in this match.
I’m pulling for Netherlands because so many others like them for good reasons and I love the color orange…dang it (uniforms).
