Yeah, I think it’s safe to say that life, in any sport, is a grind in a P5. Conference Championships are truly earned. We had an outright or share of like 10 last year. That’s remarkable.
Wasn’t Gonzaga in talks back in November to become a Big XII Hoops member?
What should have been a sign is when TDS was Indy-WCC, I don’t believe they ever won their conference in MBB. Add to it the WCC was typically a one bid conference, going to the big dance had about the same odds as winning an FBS championship as an Indy school not named Notre Dame. Ok, ND barely got a sniff over the least decade.
The B-12 is going to be a tough slog in MBB. That said, if we can figure out how to win enough, we will have a better shot at the NCAA Tournament than TDS had in the WCC. They’ve had a tough season. Unfortunately the Schadenfreude we would normally get from their pain is lost on the fact we kinda suck, too.
That is true. However, we did beat them (I realize that sounds zoobish).
WCC has had multiple bids more often than not over the last dozen years. St. Mary’s and BYU made regular trips to the dance (along with Zags who has won in Vegas quite regularly).
But in the BIG12, about half the conference will see the tourney this season.
I know their basketball team is true.
I don’t know. My point was that BYU had one big WCC game every year.
WCC also had them playing Saint Mary’s so 1.75 big games.
If you guys need a giggle tonight, Cougarboard is on a roll.
(Cougs were up 14 in the second half, choked down the stretch.)
-
“I was ok losing this game until the total collapse down the stretch”
-
Arguments between Cougar fans about what the rules say about the back court violation.
-
“I never call out players for bad play, but I’m calling out Saunders…”
Etc
Welp, The Future SEC member
the bed in the Big XII tournament.
You’re Welcome ![]()
Just a reminder that the Football Powers may be gone but y’all about to be in hell with that Conference in Hoops.
Just another Conference of Cannibals. They think it’s special.
We call it Tuesday. ![]()
We, um, know that.
The hoops venues will be fun. Football I get won’t. I’d def hit the Kansas game if I were a Ute Fan looking for a road trip.
Certainly will be some fun places to visit (a would bet that some of those humble locations such as Manhattan, Lawrence, Morgantown, etc. are all about football on game day and provide great atmosphere.) Trouble is that many of us could afford to make a drive to the homes of most PAC12 opponents, and other than the ‘4 corner’ schools, our new conference will have teams far too distant to make that drive.
I am excited by the visit to Stillwater.
Looks like it’s our first time playing in Boone Pickens.
That’s the first time in human history those words have ever appeared in that order. Congratulations.
A very good and obvious point. ![]()
