I saw a YouTube of two guys assessing the game, for “gaming purposes”.
We’re favored by 23.5? Might rain?
Just win.

It’s Laramie. It will rain, snow, the wind will blow, and their fans will be pulling their Die Hards out their trucks to throw at our players. If we win, our traveling fans will get to meet the Wyoming Highway Patrol to receive their commemorative speeding ticket.
I know there’s been hand-wringing around why the Utes are playing this game in Laramie, but I like that Utah is playing a couple of road games in preparation of the conference season. With as many Ute fans that were in the Rose Bowl, that turned into more of a bowl game than a true road contest.
For preparation purposes, I’d rather play a perceivable winnable road game, than another home game against a Northern Colorado type team.
i like that it is not a fcs team. its a short road trip. should be a win. Bird should be seen in the fourth. get back back and start prep for texas tech ( excuse my fandom of looking past this game)
That I understand and agree. But I’m still miffed that, in my opinion, we got hosed out of what should have been a 7th game at home.
Wyoming is a really hostile crowd, they get cranked up whenever any team of notoriety shows up. They beat Texas Tech a couple of years ago, IIRC.
It will be a step up for the general adversity. Their D apparently blitzes a lot + a lot zone coverage, so it will be a good game for Dampier & the receivers to keep developing.
Oh good, I’m glad it’s just Utah then. ha ha
So which coach will get their pants lit on fire by the space heaters they will inevitably need some time during the game?
Wyoming perspective - Ryan Thorburn, who covered the PAC while at Oregon, remembers the Kaelin Clay debacle at RES.

2nd year HC who struggled in Year 1 in large part because of injuries (is there an echo?). They hit the portal hard, have what they feel is good depth, especially on defense.
Wyoming Offense / Utah Defense:
QB Kaden Anderson is a Texas kid, overlooked in recruiting after an ACL in HS. They have what they feel is another “thunder and lightning” set of RBs.
They return 4 of 5 OL starters, have 2 of the better OL in the MWC. WYO recently played at Texas and battled to a tie going into the 4th quarter, so there’s zero intimidation factor, the OL knows they’ll be key to a Poke victory.
Utes Offense / WYO D - their coaches are concerned about our OTs (Lomu / SFano), their DEs are a little undersized, so are they able to get beyond our OTs to disrupt Dampier or do they get dominated?
Dampier at UNM vs WYO in Laramie last year averaged 9 ypc, but threw a pick 6 which ended up being the difference in the game.
Utah key to victory - again, from Thorburn, who has been around. FOCUS Laramie has been the demise of a lot good teams that come in and get ambushed.
WYO has really revamped their facilities and their stadium, invested a lot in War Memorial Stadium, Thorburn claims it’s the best environment in the MWC.
All I know is if Utah can’t win at Wyoming at least fairly decisively, conference play will be rough.
