I like our lineup except I’m concerned about quickness on the guard line. Which is why I wish Deivon Smith would be approved (I read that if he’s not, he’ll have to redshirt and can play next season). Maybe Exacte will help in this regard.

I wouldn’t say Exacte is quick, but he’s built like a DE, is a good athlete and really rangy, great length for his size. Whitt would take him as a DE or TE in a second.
At 236 lbs, he’s a guy who needs to avoid the weight room.

Walter Watts was an amazing athlete with diverse skills. Hefty center on the basketball court, played baseball professionally, and even tried out for the Raiders once he left school.
Sad he passed away so young.

When I was a kid and with my Dad at the 1976 Final Four in Philly, I heard someone say that Indiana’s oversized guards–Wilkerson and Buckner–were a key to its dominance. That stuck with me. So maybe we have that.

Magic Johnson was a guard, and the dude was tall, lengthy and athletic.
